Simple and effective
Pros: Extremely simple product that simply does exactly what it is supposed to do. It made my Cisco extender look really bad.
Cons: none that I can think of.
Overall Review: it's great to see a product do exactly what it is supposed to do.
Totally useless card
Pros: None
Cons: The drivers supplied for usb3 are worthless. Unless we can find out the exact chip set this card is totally useless!
Overall Review: Typical piece of garbage without any useful information or valid drivers on a little CD
Super Sweet Board!
Pros: Installed this along with new motherboard, proc and memory. Sweet - easy and even did a clean xfer of Windows 7 Ultimate without a hitch or losing any apps. Got the latest drivers from nVidia website and voila - this is one fast mama and love the CUDA for Adobe products. Also, amazingly the board is also very quiet which from some reviews seemed to have been an issue.
Cons: None that I can state.
Overall Review: I watched the battle of nVidia vs AMD (Radeon etc) for several years now, and finally, I have to say, I am now leaning towards nVidia not just because of Adobe support, but particularly due to very clean drivers. This has been one of the cleanest and easiest installs ever. I am a power user on Adobe products such as AE, PP and PS.... Sony Vegas Pro seems to like this as well. Very stable so far.
So done with AMD...
Pros: None to speak of as AMD drivers are total junk. So sad as they used to actually be good.
Cons: As said, AMD really needs to get their act together when it comes to drivers. Tried the latest (12.x.x)- fail, tried the latest beta version (I think 13 series beta) - semi fail - 50/50 and will not come back clean after reboot, shut down, sleep... basically needed to restart several time the hard way (hold power switch in for several seconds - cold boot). Not a good idea with Windows.
Overall Review: Too bad AMD is too busy putting extreme overhead into CCC instead of just focusing on making stable drivers.
Can't beat it!
Pros: Sweet little box! I do recommend reading the manual as many may forget to do that. :) Installation was clean and easy. Flexible in regards to configuration needs - supports multiple versions of RAID (0-5) and is quick on setup (took about 20 minutes including an interrupting phone call.) :)
Cons: Power on connector on the side of case instead of out the back. But really this is just an aesthetic issue - functionality is just fine.
Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone that needs high speed drive access for apps such as Adobe CS5 apps. They now require high speed throughput. As stated, if you read just the first few paragraphs of the manual you should be up and running quickly.
