games are in love
Pros: Fantastic chip. Yes - its not dual core, but set the multiplier at 14x, the chip runs 2.8 at stock voltage, Idle at 34c prime 39c with artic cooling.(Item #: N82E16835185125 ) - if you are a gamer and have a 939 system this chip devours games (currently playing oblivion, HL2, prey, AO, Q4) this new build kills at 1600x1200.
Cons: when overclocking to 3 Ghz, the temperature jumps to 42c idle, 48c load - not sure if this is a true con, but I'd liek to have the chip run 3.0 cooler :)
Overall Review: I'm so tempted to upgade another box with this chip, but I MUST RESIST. (they have to come up with a multi-thread game before the next decade right? )
be certain this will work with your build
Pros: it fit in my build well, and connection is simple
Cons: As with the black version of this card reader, only certain of the slots work well - the SD and CF on my device cause my system to reboot. On closer examination I'm fairly certain that it has to do with the connection - if I look in my device manager while placing a SD or CF in the unit I see the removable storage appear and disappear until the system hangs then reboots. buyer beware. (I'm off to buy a different on in hopes of one working :)- I guess you get what you pay for =/ )
Pros: speedy, love that I can't loose the cap
Cons: after 1 year of use the plastic around the cables have started to frey, while this isn't a terrible thing, small wires have broken free and have to be cut constantly - they can bite into your skin if you pick up the device too fast.
Overall Review: Well I'm unhappy that this item has fallen apart over time, but I am planning on getting a new one as it is reliable and won't fall off my keychain - just expect to get a new one after a year of heavy use
