Great Card
Pros: Great performance at a reasonable price. New circuitry doesn't require additional 6-pin power, but gives the same performance.
Cons: During load the fan is a bit loud, but while it is idle or mild use it is nice and quiet.
Overall Review: The last picture that displays the box, card and contents is misleading. This card (PVT98GYDLH) no longer has a 6-pin power port. The first 3 pictures are correct. XFX is proving to be a quality company to buy from.
Good package for the price
Pros: -Overall good and clear sound throughout volume range. -Can push these a lot harder before distortion than I would have thought. -Clean looking components -Appropriate mounts included (Wall and bookshelf) -Very clear instructions in the case you need them. Good for people who are new to positioning surround sound speakers. Examples of many room types are clearly explained.
Cons: -Sub box is a bit larger than I would have expected for the size of the cone. -The Auto-On/Off switch sometimes takes a little too long to notice an input to kick the sub on.
Overall Review: -Would love to have a down-ward facing sub. -I agree with others that having a screw style connection would be nicer and preferred. Although, I did not have any issues with them being loose or no securely holding the speaker wire when connected.
Good Buy
Pros: Great price. Plenty of power. Not modular, but sleeved cables keep things tidy. Quiet but effective fan.
Cons: Multiple rails, would rather have just a single rail. Not Modular, but has plenty of connections so you have a bit of cable to organize.
Overall Review: Because of the multiple rails the max amp draw is low, so for some high end rigs a bit of planning is needed to place components.
Very Loud/Good Quality
Pros: Plenty loud enough for just about anything. Good sound quality. Good Signal-to-Noise ratio.
Cons: Short Cable lengths from speakers to sub box. Blue indicator light on cables remote can be a little annoying at night.
Overall Review: Be sure to think about where you put the sub box, because it has heatsink fins sticking out the back a good 2 inches.
Pros: Simple design. Small heat spreaders do the job and don't get in the way. Very good performance for the price.
Cons: None.
