Great for laptop use

Cons: Very short cord
Overall Review: Short cord makes it easy to store in a laptop bag. However, if you have 2 USB ports next to each other, it becomes very difficult to use the second one because of the cord length. Solved with a short extension cable.
First one defective

Pros: Easy to set up Works as described
Cons: Pixelated picture
Overall Review: Seems like one of the two ports on the original item was defective. It would pixelate the picture. Reseated cables and it went away for 24 hours, but then it was back. Switching the monitors in the ports moved it to the other screen, so it is not the cable or the monitor. Switched USB ports on the computer, still there. Used a different computer, still there. So definitely defective device. This seems to be a recurring theme with StarTech products.
Holds up

Cons: If putting in sheetrock wall, cannot get all 6 screws into studs Needs better installation instructions
Overall Review: Pretty sure that I installed this and am using it upside down. There really isn't any instruction on how this should be mounted. For me, it really isn't an issue as it is holding a patch panel and switch, so the rack weighs about as much as what is installed on it.
Does the job

Cons: 12 ports, switches are 16 port.
Overall Review: Seems like the patch panel comes with multiples of 12 for ports and switches come with powers of 2. So, a 12 port patch panel uses a 16 port switch and you have extra unused ports. Other than that, seems to be working just fine. Punched down 11 ports in under an hour on the panel. First time doing it and all ports are working just fine.
Great

Pros: Easy, fast setup
Overall Review: Unmanaged switch, so piece of cake to install. Using in a home network. Had it for a week, so far, working just fine. All ports claim to be running gigabit and speed seems right.
