Great machine

Pros: great price for the hardware in it, BD-ROM, DVD/CD burner, generous, though not the largest available HDD on market, no dead pixels on mine, convenient touch controls for media and network, ample ports, attractive design, pretty good full keyboard, nice touchpad, runs WoW quite well, although not at full settings without very low FPS, 64bit OS installed, well packaged. Ample memory, good wireless support. top mounted speakers sound pretty good. Machine seems well ventilated.
Cons: Excessive bloatware, I copied the driver folder to an external drive, wiped the HDD clean, and installed a copy of Vista Ultimate I had. Installed the drivers from the external drive, updated Windows (including Windows Update driver offerings), runs much faster. Screen looks a bit washed out, still playing with settings to make it better. Gets a bit warm if you use it on your lap, ok for winter, but will need a cooling device in summer. Empty HDD bay, but wheres the drive bracket and RAID support? Brackets are available online if you look hard enough but cost almost as much as a harddrive. I also have issues with the AC adapter plug, it should be right-angle or the socket on the rear of the machine. Piano black finish around the screen prone to rub marks from being closed, I kept the foam shipping protector to cut down on this. Have not played a blu-ray yet, but search the HP forums for an update to the player software to enable playing of newer titles. "subwoofer" is weak.
Overall Review: This is my first laptop purchase and so far I am very pleased. It compares well with my home-built desktop machine (Intel E6750, 4GB RAM, Vista Ultimate, nVidia 8800GTS). Since I've not owned a laptop before I cannot compare on weight or battery-life, but that is not an issue for me as it will be plugged in most of the time as I use it. As stated above, theres a 2nd HDD bay, but no HDD bracket, although you can get one online if you search for about fifty bucks, or just get some foam rubber to wedge behind the drive to keep it in place, it won't affect its operation. Fit and finish is very good for the most part, although on the left side where the speaker grille section meets the front half the chrome piece on the outer edge doesn't line up perfectly at the seam. All in all, a good buy for the price charged.
Great carrier

Pros: Very well made, nice fit and finish, does a great job carrying my 17" HP widescreen laptop. Plenty of various storage pockets all with flaps or zippers.
Cons: Non-removable shoulder strap, but it can be tightened under the bag and is more durable than a removable strap. No issues.
Overall Review: Great laptop bag, highly recommended.
AWESOME MONITOR

Pros: This is one BEAUTIFUL monitor. I've always loved "Piano Black" finishes on electronics, and this one delivers in spades. Mine came to me with ZERO defective/stuck pixels, and once I turned the brightness down for the as-shipped 100 to about 45, it looked perfect. Neat little blue LED on the underside. I have not noticed much in the way of ghosting or anything of that nature at all. The price I paid dropped by 10 bucks over Valentines (2 days after I ordered), I chatted online with a Newegg rep and they refunded me the difference very promptly, even though they do not typically offer price-matching. GJ Newegg! Very nice unit.
Cons: It wasn't free! The blue LED on the bottom blinks if theres no signal into the monitor, that can be annoying at night if this monitor is in a bedroom. I just shut it completely off. Piano Black finishes are notorious dust magnets, but a nice wiping cloth is included to keep it polished up and nice.
Overall Review: Contrary to most other reviews I've read about this unit, the stand popped into place quite easily for me, no soap or oil or water was used to lubricate it. Its not as wobbly as I would have thought reading reviews, but it's not rock-solid either, but totally acceptable. For the price, this monitor is an excellent value in my opinion.
60GB owner's thoughts.

Pros: Blu-ray 2.0 (BDLive) playback, excellent graphics and picture quality (especially with HDMI to a good 1080p television), price cut, beautiful casing blends well with most home entertainment electronics, wireless controllers, available BD/DVD remote, Wi-Fi built in, cool PSStore, web browsing from your couch, can connect to a Windows Media center capable PC to stream music, videos, and pictures, downloadable games themes, and addons, overall a great unit. Upgradable internal HDD, biggest currently available is 500GB, available on Newegg. Sony very recently released a System Software update that includes Flash 9.0 support, so enjoy those youtube vids!
Cons: As said in many reviews, its a dust MAGNET, the shiny surface is very prone to microscratches, use a microfibre towel to wipe off. Recommend using a vacuum to extract dirt and dust from the vents regularly. Avoid add-on cooling units, the built in cooling system is very well designed and is quite sufficient. Addon coolers introduce more dust into the interior actually REDUCING cooling efficiency, plyus can burn out the power supply, which won't be warranted. Many games require installation files on the HDD, taking precious space, but as stated, the HDD is easily upgraded using almost any 2.5" SATA laptop drive. The 60GB unit I have is backwards compatible, but this 80GB is not, however, the PS2 is still widely available at a cheap cost, if you wanna play PS2 games, use that! This unit also lacks mem-card slots, and only has 2 USB, but more USB and mem-card slots can be added via hubs, and USB mem-card readers for cheap price.
Overall Review: Unit is rather heavy, would NOT recommend standing it on its end, even though its able, as knocking it over would likely cause damage due to its mass. If your web browsing experience is blurry, its because you are likely using a standard-def TV, High-def would improve your experience considerably. Linux (Yellowdog) can be installed, but its geared more toward powerr users, as the low system memory procludes much beyond web browsing, email, and some minor games. Don't expect to run Wine inside Linux on this thing. Contrary to some reviews, this model IS backward compatible with SOME PS1 software, but not at all with ANY PS2 software. This is about the best Blu-ray player on the market today for the money, especially considering all the things it can do that standalones cannot.
Does what I need

Pros: Small price, good name brand of USB flash-drives.
Cons: Cap can be EASILY lost, no included lanyard.
Overall Review: I bought this device for the express purpose of using it for Readyboost on my Vista Ultimate x64 based machine, and it delivers.
Great card

Pros: Great framerates, awesome video quality, highly recommend.
Cons: LONG, HEAVY, needs better application of thermal interface compund between the GPU/memory and the HSF.
Overall Review: My last card was a 6600XT. This is my 1st PCI-e video card (yea yea) and I really wonder why the heck I didn't switch from AGP sooner. Oh, money. Durn. Glad I did though.
