Overall Review: I bought the 850W version of the EVGA SuperNova G5 after seeing many reviews about the lower wattage versions being more prone to coil whine. The main draw of the G5 series for me was the illuminated EVGA logo on the back of the power supply, which glows solid to indicate that power is being supplied to the computer, and pulses on and off when the PC is in operation. Using an old converted Apple Power Mac G5 case, I had few options for cable management, so a fully modular PSU was crucial. The SuperNova G5 comes with enough sleeved cables to support just about any kind of setup. They are also conveniently labelled with their function and which end goes to the PSU and which end goes to the device to reduce confusion. Overall, I have had a great experience with this product. The solid metal construction gives it a premium feel, and with eco-mode selected, I haven't had the fan come on even during intensive gaming in the summer months.
