Outstanding case, but a few issues...

Fractal Design Define XL Black Pearl w/ USB 3.0 ATX Full Tower Silent PC Computer Case
Fractal Design Define XL Black Pearl w/ USB 3.0 ATX Full Tower Silent PC Computer Case

Pros: Built incredibly well. It makes alot of the much more expensive cases look stupid in this department. The sound proof material is not a gimmick, it really absorbs the sound that would normally bounce around the inside of your case; I noticed the difference right away. Silicone grommets are nice and there is plenty of room to run the wires behind the case. USB ports are conveniently placed on the top of the case. Filters! Very important to me... there are filters for the intake fans. There are plenty of HD bays. The quick release trays are made of a thin flexible steel that snaps in the the bays beautifully. I like this design because the trays stay in there even if they are not occupied. The problem I always had with the plastic clips is that I would always loose them because they do not stay in the case. Also, the trays allow for 2.5" SSD and will saving you from having to use a SSD bracket. Very good looking, I like the look of this case more than any ot

Cons: The hole for the PSU wires to run trough is poorly placed. If you have a large psu such as a Corsair HX 1000, it is not really possible to get the wires to go though the hole without modification. The hole is to close to the back of the case and will only work with a small PSU. I was able to extend the hole with a dremmel tool in about 5min. A pair of sheet metal shear would do the job as well. The case comes with one 140m fan in the front, one 140mm fan in the rear and one 180mm fan on the top. The front fan filter assembly has 2 140mm fan slots but only one is accomodated. That is silly. Newegg does not sell the fans used in the Fractal case so I had to buy 3 Cooler Master fans and replace all the fans. The Cooler Master fans are extremely quiet though, and I don't so much mind the extra 30 dollars for all three total. This may only be a con to some, but you cannot run 3 or 4 video cards in this case. The motherboard sits to low to the bottom section.

Overall Review: I do not regret buying this case. I would not make a different choice even with the cons I have to list. All of my psu wires reached where they needed to go through the back of the case except for the 12v Motherboard port near the processor. This cable had to be run directly up through the internal relief inside the case. It was not a problem though and it isn't really noticable because I ran it under the video cards. This case is not setup too well for watercooling. No problem for me, I just want cool and quiet air cooling. The bracket that holds the psu had to be flipped around to get my psu facing upright with the intake fan over the filtered inlet on the case like it should be.

Another one bites the dust

OCZ Vertex 2 2.5" 115GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G
OCZ Vertex 2 2.5" 115GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G

Pros: It was cutting edge when I bought it. Thank you OCZ, for trying to set a new standard in SSD.

Cons: It broke just like everyones elses in the 1 star reveiw category. Screen freezes followed by BSOD. The failure rate is very high with these hard drives; no doubt.

Overall Review: I am not going to bother sending this drive in if OCZ is going to replace it with the same faulty model. This drive is a couple hundred bucks of my hard earned money, should I just thow it in the trash and buy a Crucial? Does OCZ really just send the same faulty drive model as a replacement? Or do they send a new revision or new stepping?

990FX owners beware!

EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2682-KR GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2682-KR GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Nice card... quiet, great power consumtion, almost twice the power of my 6970.

Cons: SLI / Surround is not compatible with 990FX chipsets. I specifically bought these cards to run BF3 on triple screen and it does not work at all. Google it, and you will see everyone with 990FX has the same problem.

Overall Review: I can't believe Nvidia would release these cards without letting the public know are not compatible with the AMD chipsets. They have had weeks to work on this after release and still no fix. Not one review mentioned this either... very upsetting.

Yes, this is the real deal

SAPPHIRE 100925 Active Mini Display Port (M) to Single-Link DVI (F) Cable
SAPPHIRE 100925 Active Mini Display Port (M) to Single-Link DVI (F) Cable

Pros: If your trying to figure out if this can be used instead of the active adaptor kind for 100 dollars, the answer is yes. I am using this for an eyefinity setup with 3 monitors in 5760 x 1080. I have not seen any errors regarding reslolution problems or detection problems.

Cons: No cons

Overall Review: After going through 2 vga adapters with all kinds of problems I am glad I found the real deal without spending 100 dollars.

Not Bad

SilverStone Zeus ST52F 520 W EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply
SilverStone Zeus ST52F 520 W EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Good solid power supply. Good components. Silverstone makes really good power supplies.

Cons: The SATA HDD power connectors just barely reach the hard drive bays in my TJ05.

Overall Review: Got this in a bundle with the TJ05. No regrets, like I said its a very reliable psu and good looking too.

Great Monitor

Acer H233Hbmid Black 23" 5ms HDMI Full HD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 40000:1 (ACM) Built in Speakers
Acer H233Hbmid Black 23" 5ms HDMI Full HD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 40000:1 (ACM) Built in Speakers

Pros: This is really a great monitor. The price actually went up a little bit on this since I bought it. You can't match this monitor for the price. The picture is incredible on this, very vivid and robust colors. No bleeding very stark back and whites. I would be hard pressed to find a better looking picture on any high priced monitor.

Cons: The base could be a little stonger, but on a sturdy desk it should be fine.

Overall Review: I do alot of photo editing, as well as some gaming and I think this monitor serves those purposes very well. It looks like Acer has redeemed themselves.
