You Get What You Pay For
Pros: Lightweight, clear picture, bright colors. All cables were included. Thin bezel. Cheap price. Good for general use.
Cons: Very noticeable back light bleed from all sides of the monitor. Usually only see this on the top and bottom. Contrast ratio seems way less than 2500:1. Stand is cheap plastic, no vertical adjustment. Buttons feel cheap, wiggle in their slots. In addition, this monitor suffers from all of the problems usually associated with TN panels.
Overall Review: Next to my Dell 2408WFP this monitor looks sub par. A user never having seen a good quality PVA panel would likely never notice the difference. The monitor took a large amount of adjustments, color, gamma, brightness, contrast. The colors still don't look "right" on everything. All of that being said, this is a great value. $200 for a 22" monitor is a great deal any way you slice it. This will be one of 2 22" that will flank my Dell 24. In full screen games and movies you don't notice the back light bleed so much.(Unless you're watching widescreen movies of course) I am aware that comparing this monitor to one that costs 3 times as much is unfair, but its the only thing I have to compare it to. This is a great monitor for the price and would certainly suffice for playing games and general computer use. Newegg Note:This was shipped in it's original box leaving no question as to what was inside. UPS also delivered it to my next door neighbor after realizing I wasn't home.
Great Surface for Gaming and General Use
Pros: Tacky "feet" keep pad in place. Dual side design is great for precision or high speed work. Large surface gives plenty of room for mouse movement (while zoomed in on that sniper rifle). Sturdy, solid construction. Shows no signs of wear on areas where mouse feet contact surface.
Cons: Surface seems to attract grains of sand and grit. Sand and grit is more noticeable on a hard surface.
Overall Review: This pad has worked perfectly on the assortment of mice I have tried. I have used the Logitech G5, MX500, MX1000, MX518, and most recently the MS Sidewinder. This pad is large, be sure you have enough space on your desk to accommodate. I like to take some pledge and grease up the "speed" side of the pad, for added twitchyness.. if thats a word.
Good Case, Good Price
Pros: Sturdy construction, case feels very rugged. All zippers feel very tight. Handle is padded and feels robust. Plenty of room for XBOX, 2 Controllers, Cables, Powerbrick, Games, ethernet cable. Case is well balanced, doesn't lean one way or another while carrying.
Cons: Stiff construction prevents case from collapsing for storage. Sleeves that hold games are semi loose, games shift in transit.
Overall Review: Great case overall for traveling or taking the system to a friends house. I am able to fit everything needed without problems. I wouldn't recommend using the XBOX while inside the case, even though it's possible. I wouldn't want to risk the Red Ring of Death due to overheating.
Good card I'm sure, if you get one that works.
Pros: Dual slot cooling blows air out of the case. I'm sure the card performs up to spec but I was unable to verify due to card being DOA.
Cons: Fan is loud at high speeds. Card was DOA.
Overall Review: After installing this card, the boot screens and Windows loading screens displayed severe artifacting. Opening the card in the device manager gave the good old "error code 10". Sending the card back to EVGA is out of the question, they make the user cover shipping BOTH WAYS. I buy a product, it's defective, now I have to pay more money to get a new one. I would do a flat return but would end up losing more money through restocking fees and return shipping. I am trapped with this broken card. My only viable option is to pay more money and ship it back to Newegg and HOPE the new card will work. This is unacceptable. The $104 card i purchased is now up to $115 through no fault of my own, I guess we will see how far this rabbit hole goes.
Great Gaming Mouse
Pros: Ultra smooth movement. Great feet and weight options. On-The-Fly DPI adjustment works as advertised. Looks great. Mouse Wheel "clicks" feel solid. Worked right out of the box, no software install needed.
Cons: Bad thumb button placement. Stiff cord.
Overall Review: Overall a great mouse. On games that slow down your zoomed in sniper view, the one button DPI adjuster works great. No major issues so far.
Good Replacment Drive
Pros: Drive was easy to install. Great price when I bought it. Plug and play, worked the first time I tried to use it after "plugging it in."
Cons: This drive is LOUD. It also spins very fast, vibrating my whole lappy.
Overall Review: This was a replacement drive for my Laptop. I have burned over 300 movies with 0 problems. Great robust drive. As mentioned in Cons, it's kind of hard to burn movies covertly at work with such a loud drive.
