Can't go wrong

Koutech IO-RCM620 USB 2.0 3.5" Card Reader
Koutech IO-RCM620 USB 2.0 3.5" Card Reader

Pros: I've installed 3 of these in 3 different builds, running Windoze XP, Vista and 7. They all work, they are zero hassle and they come with two faceplates. What else do you want for $20??

Cons: No 5" bay adapter (I guess THAT'S what I want for $20!)

Most Critical Review

Interesting, but not worth buying

Tuniq CR-PRO120-BK 120mm Magnetic Fluid Dynamic Bearing Propeller 120 CPU Cooler
Tuniq CR-PRO120-BK 120mm Magnetic Fluid Dynamic Bearing Propeller 120 CPU Cooler

Pros: Moves lotsa air, keeps CPU nice and cool. Bizarre geometry means this fan fits in some cases that others won't. Be warned: It's massive...no way you're gonna put this on an ATX board and not obscure some slots.

Cons: Ah..where to start? First, this fan does NOT fit the ASRock P55 mobo, despite what it says on NewEgg. Well, it sorta fits...the mounting holes mean the fan sits about 10 degrees offset from square...I guess that's OK. Second: Rubber spikes for mounting the fan is the most asinine thing I've ever seen. The rubber mounts are fragile and break easily and, because there is no tech support, impossible to replace. Third: The fan is NOT quiet. I have 10 fans in my case, including stock Antec case fans and 2 VPU fans, and this fan is easily the loudest. Fourth: Because this fan is wide, not tall, it comes within (single digit) millimeters of touching one of my video cards...VERY tight fit. It also mostly obscures two RAM slots on my ASROCK P55 Deluxe mb.

Overall Review: One of the reasons I buy from NewEgg is the Tech Support info they give for the manufacturers--it's nice to have it all in one place. This manufacturer, however, only offers email support--to which they DO NOT respond. I sent 3 emails with no response. I would highly recommend NewEgg drop this manufacturers products, because they refuse to support them.

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK

Pros: It's SHINY!

Cons: OCZ was kind enough to post a response to my last review stating it would be better to run the 1.9v kit at 1.8v. That might be true if the kit actually RAN at 1.8v. In fact, the 1.9v kit is ONLY stable at 1.9v and the 1.7v kit is ONLY stable at 1.7v, which makes the kits incompatible. Why OCZ would change a critical spec like voltage without changing the part number is bizarre. This whole mess is not really NewEgg's fault...they see the same part number and assume compatibility.

Overall Review: Tech Support through the OCZ forums is a FARCE. I have attempted to use their forums to resolve this issue, but OCZ people post rarely and sporadically. As it sits, it's been 8 days since any OCZ rep posted in the sub-forum I'm posting in (OCZ Memory Support And Motherboard Tuning Forum > Support and Tuning for Intel System > Other Motherboard Section). Frankly, I think OCZ techs post more HERE than on their own forums.

Unacceptably POOR Customer Service

Antec P193 Gunmetal Gray Aluminum / Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec P193 Gunmetal Gray Aluminum / Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: See previous review

Cons: As stated in my previous review, this case arrived with a broken front panel. After 6 weeks of trying to get some response from Antec Customer service, I was finally advised they would receive replacement panels at the end of FEBRUARY. This equates to a FOUR MONTH wait for a replacement part.

Overall Review: This is the most expensive Antec case NewEgg sells and the idea that Antec finds it perfectly acceptable to let a customer wait 4 months for service--on a premium product--is abhorrent. I have built 5 systems in Antec cases over the last 2 years, but never again. Frankly, if I hadn't already built this system I'd RMA the case and buy Lian Li. I may anyway.

Not bad, but probably won't buy again

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK

Pros: Ah...hmm...It's not really a 'pro' that it mostly does what it's supposed to...It IS shiny...It's relatively inexpensive, comparatively. I will say this: OCZ tech support has been VERY helpful--easy to get a hold of, no long waits on hold, and their techs speak nice, clear English with a California surfer accent. Dude.

Cons: Not mad at OCZ, but I got a bad stick. I suppose it had to happen sometime...I probably done 20 builds without ever gettin bad RAM. NewEgg was beyond excellent in handling the RMA, BUT--and it's a big BUT--OCZ changed the voltage on these sticks between my first order and the RMA. Same part number, same timing, but the old stuff runs at 1.9v and the new sticks are 1.7. I had stability issues at 1.7, so now I'm running at 1.8 and so far, so good. However, the tech DID say it would reduce the lifespan of the 1.7v sticks.

Overall Review: I suppose it's unreasonable...could have happened with ANY brand, but my gut instinct is to go back to GSkill for future builds.

Nice

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 100283-2L
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 100283-2L

Pros: I have to admit I don't really know how to quantify VPU quality, but I know my World of Warcrack frame-rate doubled with the upgrade from 2x4830. I have had zero defects with Sapphire cards (these are my 5th & 6th), zero compatibility issues and--unlike some others, zero problems with Sapphire Tech support. These were the most expensive component of my latest build and I believe they were worth every dime.

Cons: Hmmm....I guess my only complaint is I didn't realize these came with a crossfire cable included, so I bought 2 I didn't need. Anybody need a couple crossfire cables??
