Works great with MSI 770-C45!
Pros: Fast and stable memory!
Cons: Defaults to 1066 on MSI 770-C45. The heat sinks are big and tall and got in the way of the fan on my Freezer 64, but fortunately it has good rubber mountings with allowed it to be moved a little out the way.
Overall Review: I had to manually set the settings to the recommended setting in the bios of the board and it runs very fast as such. I also had to up the voltage manually to 1.65 from 1.5 that the board defaults to. These are the default setting of the memory but for some reason it won't default to them. It has been very stable at 1333 settings after setup in the bios, but I can't get much more out of it.
Fast chip, great overclocker
Pros: Fast right out of the box! Well worth the extra $13 to go to 2.8 over the 2.6 of the 620. Runs super cool at stock speed and oc'd to 3.4 Ghz using a Freezer 64. I'm running it on an MSI 770-C45 with 4Gb DDR3-1333
Cons: No L3, but to be honest I haven't missed it yet.
Overall Review: Significantly faster than my Core2Quad 8200 and I don't mean just a little a LOT. At stock speed it scores double on PCMark05. OC'd signifcantly more. It's a speed difference you can easily notice just using the machines. I was debating between this and a Phenom II X3 720 black and I think the extra core was worth it for me, but you can't go wrong either way.
Fantastic on Athlon II X4
Pros: Keeps temps down and running cool.
Cons: NONE!
Overall Review: I had this orginally on my Athlon 64 3200+ for last couple years and I finally upgraded to an Athlon II X4 630. It kept the previous chip in the mid 40's but with the new chip overclocked to 3.4 Ghz idle I'm at 25 and under full load at 42 degrees. I'm impressed.
Fantastic Board for the Price
Pros: Booted right up the first time! I don't think I've ever had an install go so flawlessly and easy. Runs stable and fast even overclocked. I'm using an Athlon II X4 630 (2.8 GHz) and it is very fast at stock speeds. I like not having to deal with turning off on board graphics. The bios has a good selection of options for overclocking. Great board for the money!
Cons: The manual is virtually worthless. The overclock switches didn't really work all that well. I set it at a 20% overclock and it BSD's on boot, but setting to the same settings in the bios it's been running stable and fast for two days of burn in tests. So, I'm not sure the switches provide much value to someone who knows their way around a bios. For those who don't I think you can only expect improvements with lower setting (10% or 15%).
Overall Review: I bought this in a bundle with Patriot DDR3-1333, it by default set the speed to 1066. I was able to adjust it to 1333 in the bios and it runs great, just be aware you may have to play with the settings.
