A Couch Potato's Dream
Pros: To make it short and simple this beast has everything I ever dreamed of. The sound is very perfect for an LCD. The picture quality - when subscribed to an HD service is superb; I watched Finding Nemo again and though it runs at 480p it is beautiful. However you must consider what size room you are going to put this monster in - if you live in a relatively small apartment then consider something a little smaller. But again this monitor is amazing.. now I just need to convince my wife to let me build a new computer so that I can play WOW on it ;) Go get yourself one. You wont regret it.
Cons: If you use component cables with fat terminal heads it will be a bit of a hastle to get them all in.. but they still go in. I say go with HDMI if possible.
Overall Review: Use as desktop monitor replacement so you can do your computing from the lazyboy. Seroiusly - as a software developer it's much easier to program from my lazyboy for hours on end than from my stupid chair.
No.
Pros: Fast and Quite
Cons: I burned one DVD - perfectly might I add... however, after that one burn the drive refused to read regular CD-ROMS. Upgraded the firmware but all it would do was make a clicking sound 4 times and not recognize any regular CD-ROMS. Maybe an isolated issue but cause for concern with QA at Sony...
Overall Review: Big name brand != good product
Don't believe all the hype...
Comments: This printer is a great printer. However, it drinks the ink... seriously! If you don't mind spending $xxxx on ink per month then I would suggest this printer - if you go with this printer I would highly suggest you use the generic ink cartriges, I use them and I have had no problem with them.
Okay I guess...
Comments: It is a very nice looking fan controller. Unfortunately, it does not store settings in memory i.e. temperature limits for alarm- so every time you turn on your computer you need to re-set the limits, which can be a bit of an annoyance (if your overclocking, this will really get frustrating). Molex connectors would have been nice too, but you can get adaptors for all that; however, it will create a big mess of wires- and if you are like me, that won't fly (wire cleanliness is next to wire godliness). Conclusion: Not worth the money. Spend a few extra $$$ and get yourself something better.
Wahoo!!!
Comments: I don't know what to say about this memory. It is the best memory available and quite simply un-breakable. Also it gave me an extra 800 points on my 3d Mark 2k1 score- not overclocked ! Definitely worth the cash. Did I mention NewEgg rocks? Well- NewEgg Rocks!!!
BRAVO!!!
Comments: Quite simply the best combination of parts out there! If you go with an XP higher than 2000 (most likely you are) you will have to flash your bios. This is by far the most stable platform available... and best looking!
