Good but not as quick as claimed
Pros: Simple to operate, reliable
Cons: "high speed" dubbing not so high speed...
Overall Review: I really like this product as I have 2000 cassettes to transfer over to mp3. The only drawbackis the fact that you have to high speed dub to the program and then convert to mp3, this makes the high speed dubbing not quite so high speed. It only saves about 5 minutes... on a 90 minute cassette that's not worth the effort when you can skip the step and simply record at normal speed... Overall I likethis product though.
Ok, not great
Pros: Simple, Interesting look, cheap
Cons: SLOW... Charging light always stays on, feels cheap
Overall Review: We bought this to replace a much more expensive wine opener that finally died after 3 years of weekly use. This will probably end up as a short term solution as it feels cheap, although it does seem to work reliably, just very slowly. It takes about 20-40 seconds to open a bottle after you have cut the foil. My other concern besides the speed is that the charging light is always on when on the base unit. A small red light on the base and a large light on top of the unit stay on whenever it is plugged into power. I wish we could turn off the top light as it is very distracting. All in all not a bad unit, but if you want something that feels high end and actually opens bottles with some speed save your money and buy a much higher end unit. But for the price point it is comparable to others...
Good For what they are designed for
Pros: Quiet, Quality built, sleeved connector, low power consumption.
Cons: Would have liked screws shipped with the unit along with the rubber mounts for other mounting options.
Overall Review: I am really confused by some of the other reviews saying these don't put out enough air, they are only supposed to put out 37 cfm, it says so in the description, it also says it's only a 1000 RPM fan. Why would you buy it if it wasn't enough airflow for your use? But anyway I use 8 of these fans as a home theater cabinet cooling system on a thermal switch. When they turn on I cannot hear them while the tv or music is playing and the system is right behind the tv. I decided on these fans because of their good noise to airflow. Most fans are 30db or louder at 35cfm, these are about 20db. With all the entertainment center equipment off I can just barely hear them, it sounds like a very soft breeze through the trees a long way off... Keep in mind I am using 8 of them at once without any noise dampening... I would recommend these for just about any application where noise is a concern and you don't need super fast airflow.
Solid but nothing fancy
Pros: Low profile, ability to protect phone/cable lines. some outlets are spaced for bulky power supply units. Light is not obtrusive but gives the information you need.
Cons: All outlets face out so a "side facing" power supply will have to go on the end or nowhere. No ability to protect LAN lines. Cable management is ok, but not really useful. No ability to mount on a wall.
Overall Review: All in all this is what you would expect from a surge protector in this price point. The fact that it is relatively unobtrusive and well made more than compensates for the weak cable management system and lack of 90 degree plugs. The only major wish I would have liked was the ability to mount the unit to the wall, (i.e. screw keyholes) but this does not break my option down to where I would give it less than 5 stars... In this price point this is at the top of the group.
Good speaker for the price
Pros: Good construction Quality, Good sound levels/clarity, Timbre Matched to both the monitor and RCi (In-wall) series.
Cons: A bit bulky, Polk no longer makes this model.
Overall Review: Even though Polk no longer makes the CS1 series speakers they are a great value (at least on Newegg) and sound like a $500 speaker. I bought one of these for my surround sound system in my bedroom, (Polk RC85i In Wall all around except the center) I couldn't fit an in-wall center speaker due to placement so I had been using a Paradigm Audio center which cost $750 new in 2002... This polk actually has better sound quality and better response than the more expensive paradigm and it Timbre Matched to the other speakers. (Yes this does make a huge difference) The paradigm was close but not quite there. I actually like this speaker enough that I bought another one for another bedroom surround sound system... I would recommend this for anyone not wanting to pay $600 for a center speaker who wants that level of sound quality...
Best in wall speakers at this price point
Pros: Very good mids and highs, (I filter the lows out to my subs despite the 8" woofer allowing it to only work on mids). Simple installation in existing setups and the speakers themselves are simple to install in wall even when doing a first time in wall setup. Solid speaker construction, very flush paint-able on wall grill
Cons: The mounting clips are a bit flimsy but with a little caution they are fine, (Do not set a power drill over driver setting 1 or 2, you really should do this by hand to ensure they don't break.)
Overall Review: I just bought these speakers to finish off my 7.2 surround system, I have these in wall speakers as my front, rear and just bought these 2 for my surrounds, (Replacing Bose cubes) creating an all in-wall system. My other 4 Polk RC85i in-wall speakers have been in the walls for over a year now with no issues and great sound. I did make in wall boxes with 2x4's above/below and insulation. (Gave a bit better low sound) These are my first set of these speakers I bought from newegg (Others bought locally) and my experience was less than I expected, (Although This is the first less than good experience I have had with them in the last several years of dealing with them). They failed to ship any paperwork, (Including the warranty, template and even a copy of the invoice) and weren't willing to assist in any way, not even emailing me an invoice. I had to call Polk to send me the paperwork newegg failed to send. Luckily I still had my templates from my previous install.
