I should have bought this to start
Pros: Panel looks great premium look I like how it doesnt have rgb on the back of the monitor. I dont even know why thats a thing in 2020. I never see the back of my monitor.
Overall Review: I recently purchased a different brand ultrawide monitor and was totally let down by it. If youre thinking about pulling the trigger on this just do it and thank me later. Its the perfect size and resolution for gaming or productivity. It doesn have that "gamer" aesthetic which is a huge plus IMO. Im totally happy with it!
200hz is a complete lie
Pros: Design wise it looks good but thats honestly about it. Newegg shipped it insanely fast! (that doesnt have anything to do with the monitor though(I love Newegg btw))
Cons: This isnt a real 200hz panel junk under the screen
Overall Review: I was skeptical about this monitor but I figured how bad could a 200hz ultra wide really be? It has MSI's name on it so it must be good. Right? I currently have it sitting next to my Dell S2716DGR which is a 1440p 144hz gsync display and its painfully obvious that the panel in this MAG301CR is not an actual 200hz panel. The amount of blurring and ghosting makes it hard to play games and scroll through text at times. Its a shame because I really wanted to like this monitor because it looks great on my desk. The minimalist wide base is nice and it shares alot of design elements with MSI's higher end monitors but the quality just isnt there. On top of everything there is debris in the top left corner of my screen. 6-7 pieces of what im assuming is just dust between the panel and the backlight. I dont like leaving a one egg review for anything but when something is just flat out not what it says it is its frustrating. I have slow motion videos of a response time test for both monitors to show the difference between a true 144hz monitor and this phony "200hz" if somebody from msi would like to see them.
Terrible quality but does look nice I guess
Pros: Only a handful of pink options so I regretfully bought this Comes with a rgb/fan hub
Cons: Thumb screws were all over tightened Back panel is warped so so it scrubs the rear fan Extremely low quality and thin material
Overall Review: Quality control is terrible. Multiple stripped screws which were a massive pain to get out. The back side panel is warped and hits the rear fan. Took out the rear filter to see if that was the problem and nope.. its the panel. Unplugged the fan so now theres just a Useless fan in the case. Whoever decided to print TURBO COC(use your imagination why its stupid) on the case should be fired. Ill be taking the front panel apart to spray over the ridiculous text. If I wasnt on a time crunch to get this pc finished for my daughters birthday I wouldve thrown it directly in the trash and ordered a different case.
These fans look great but...
Pros: They look great EDIT: Montech emailed me and made this right. Incredible customer service! I wont hesitate to buy more Montech products in the future and Ill definitely be purchasing more of these fans. Thanks guys!
Cons: Pins on the controller boards were bent and one beyond repair. I tried to bend them back but they snapped off immediately.
Overall Review: Each fan has four connectors which isnt necessary. Its 2019 Montech! We dont need a 3 pin and a molex connector on each fan. The fans can be daisy chained which is a nice feature but can add to the extra cable mess. Luckily I purchased two sets of these so the damaged controller wasnt a huge deal for me but its annoying. Might want to look into packaging the board and power button, sata power and rgb/pwm cable in a bigger bag or seperately. Would fix the bent pin issues. If it wasnt for the pins and useless molex connectors on the fans this would be a 5 egg product without a doubt.
Great looks but poorly designed
Pros: -Tempered glass -RGB looks neato -Good price
Cons: The top fan..... come on guys and girls at DIYPC... theres no excuse in this. Only buy this case if your motherboard doesnt have a top VRM heat sink or you own a dremel. Had to grind a chunk of the top fan off to get the motherboard to fit because i was determined to keep the included rgb fans in the intended location. Also why is there a dust filter for an exhaust fan??? This Case was a complete pain to build in but the final result actually looks pretty good. if you couldve made this case just half an inch taller or just put the rgb fans in the front of the case to begin with there wouldnt be an issue. I would not recommend this case to a first time builder.
