Rosewill 220mm Computer Case Fan (Case Cooling Fan) - Transparent Frame & 4 Blue LEDs, Sleeve Bearing, Super Quiet Fan with LP4 4-Pin Connector; RCA-220-BL

Pros: I bought this simply for the Cool factor. That thing looked BAD-*** in my case, Like a propeller from a small plane. Sadly though I had to remove it when I installed a new heatsink the other day and it was prevent the case door from shutting....I'll miss it

Cons: no cons

Most Critical Review

DOA so it seems

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I'll let you all know when I get a working one. Based on my research, these drives are excellent so I'm really hoping it's an isolated incident. Will update and change rating if the next one works well

Cons: DOA and UPS. Didn't even spin up or post to the BIOS. and UPS because it's well, UPS

Overall Review: As it turns out, the Samsung Spinpoints seem to have an issue with the newer AMD chipsets with the SB850 but from what I've read the drives make a knocking sound unless they've been flashed with a different firmware. Mine however, didn't do anything at all despite which port SATA port I used. But being the glutton for punishment that I am, I simply ordered a replacement and then grabbed the 1tb thats on sale because they are supposed to be some of the best drives out there right now and I like building my rig for stabilty and longevity as my last setup was based on an old Nvidia Nforce 3 939 chipset which was bought refurbished on newegg about 6 years ago and still runs fine for everyday stuff but struggles with the newer VST/VSTi's. Rest of my rig is based on the 890gx from Gigabyte, an AMD 1090t, 8gb ripjaws, and Intel 80gb boot drive and Emu1820m sound card as this computer is built for music production with the drives themselves being used for sample storage and audio data.

Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound AS5-3.5G
Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound AS5-3.5G

Pros: 7 years after I bought this little tube, I finally ended up using it to a Xigmatek Gaia 120mm heatsink and fan I installed...Between the Thermal Compound and the heatsink, my Phenom II x6 went from 45-60c with the stock heatsink and fan to under 20c on average.....need I say anything else? Everything else in the case is exactly the same. Nice to know something I bought in 2004 works like a charm in 2011

Cons: No cons

Great Heatsink fan was DOA

XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler LGA1150 Haswell Compatible
XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler LGA1150 Haswell Compatible

Pros: Absolutely love this heatsink. My old stock cooler had things running at around 46-50c idle and would occasionally go above 60c during the summer (desert dwellar) I had this sitting around for awhile because I wanted to wait until I was ready to revamp a few things in my rig all at once being that this thing require the motherboard to be removed. It was actually much easier then I anticipated to install this on the back of the motherboard and had absolutely no issues installing this on a gigabyte 890gx board. I have this running in the push pull config and I kid you not, with a little Arctic Silver 5and this thing, my temps went from almost 60c maxed out to UNDER 20c on average, in amd overdrive, speedfan and the bios. That's just nuts ESPECIALLY when the fan that came with it was DOA and I got the continous beep. Once I figured out what the problem is, windows had already booted and the temperature monitor, even without the working fan it stayed under 21c, now, 17c when idling

Cons: Fan was dead and had to get a fan from a local store to replace it

Overall Review: Great heatsink combined with Arctic Silver 5 for 20-25 bucks, totally worth it

Gets warm

SUPER TALENT PICO-C 16GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model STU16GPCN
SUPER TALENT PICO-C 16GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model STU16GPCN

Pros: Ridiculously small. I have my entire music collection on this thing and popped into the usb input in my car on something about as big as a thumbnail. Decent transfer speed. Metal casing seems durable

Cons: Gets warm especially when doing long transfers.
