Monitor/TV Done Right
Pros: Great Side Viewing Angles (left & right about 160-170 degrees) Exceptional Horizontal Swivel Range (around 200 degrees) Brilliant Color (colors really seem to "pop", they are very vibrant) Customization Ability [software] (can change many settings allowing you to make viewing perfect for environment. Note: you can adjust the strength of the power indicator light on the front from very bright to off) Aesthetically Pleasing To The Eye (the Touch of Color adds a lot of quality to the appearance) Doesn't Get Hot (temperature stays cool...can get warm in enclosed spaces, but never hot) 2 HDMI Ports (it's always nice to have two different peripherals, which use the same connection type, to be plugged directly into the tv/monitor at the same time) Built-In DTV Tuner (simply allows for less hassle when being used as a television because no outside tuner box is necessary) True 1080p Display (24" is really the smallest size that can display the 1920x1080 resolution) Remote Control (easy
Cons: Poor Vertical Viewing Angles (anything below horizontal results in severely distorted color and brightness, above horizontal stays clean for about 45 degrees then begins distortion as well) Mediocre Speaker Quality (two 3Watt speakers don't encapsulate a completely full sound, the bass is lacking so the treble stands out) Cannot Tilt Downward Past 90 degree Vertical (not really an issue unless it will sit high and you will be viewing it from below...if this is the case, this monitor/tv isn't highly recommended) No Vertical Height Adjustment (screen can be tilted, but not raised or lowered) Not Wall Mountable (as clearly advertised) NOTE: Initial Resolution Display (this monitor/tv starts out displaying things in 1920x1200 resolution, which distorts images, but a simple adjustment in the menu can easily fix it with no future issues)
Overall Review: I use this as both my monitor and television. The ability to switch between my computer, my Playstation 3, and broadcast television with the press of a button is truly remarkable. For the price I paid ($430 + free shipping) a year ago it was a spectacular deal, but with the price now it's even better! With easy to follow software (menu controls) anyone can go from in-box to fully functional television in under 10 minutes. I have had no issues with dead pixels, pixel striping, or pixel boxes. I have run it on average about 6 hours a day every day for the last year (so that's about 2200 total hours that I have had it on) and haven't had a single issue with it. I would highly recommend it as monitor, but it makes an even better tv. Because of the built-in DTV tuner, easy-to-use menu, and the capability to display true 1080p images, it would seem kind of a waste to only use it as a monitor for your computer. Either way you choose, I guarantee you will be pleased with the T240HD.
Not High Quality, But Works
Pros: Easy To Transport (the case makes it easy to take the huge variety of tools around) Convenience (it is very easy to see all of the tools and access them) Case Quality (not easily damaged, minor wear and tear over time, a little flimsy)
Cons: Tool Quality (acceptable for minimal use and minimal strain, but are very low quality when compared to the same item bought individually elsewhere)
Overall Review: It's a nice variety of tools and very compact, but the quality is so poor enough that I wouldn't recommend this. None of the tools are comfortable in your hands, but they do the job. I leave it up to you, but my recommendation is to find the tools elsewhere.
Good For The Price
Pros: Great Side Viewing Angles (left & right about 160-170 degrees) Good Vertical Viewing Angles (up & down about 100 degrees...colors start to warp after that) Stand Is Solid (pretty sturdy) Crisp Color (colors are very realistic, but a little dark) Doesn't Get Hot (temperature stays cool...gets minutely warm in enclosed spaces) Display Resolution (1440x900 is good for watching widescreen movies) Wall Mountable (VESA mounting option @ 100x100mm) Power Indicator Light (blue and looks pretty cool)
Cons: Lacks Display Port Variety (only VGA connection) Physical Appearance (not super sleek or attractive, really rugged looking)
Overall Review: It went from in-box to fully functional in about 5 minutes. I have had no issues with dead pixels, pixel striping, or pixel boxes since I have had it. I have run it on average about 6 hours a day every day for the last 6 months (so that's about 1100 total hours that I have had it on) and haven't had a single issue with it. I would highly recommend it as monitor as long as you aren't worried about outside appearance (it's not really that bad though). You pretty much can't beat the price, so if you are in the market for a monitor and don't have a lot of money, I would recommend the Acer X193Wb.
1TB = 931GB formatted
Pros: Storage Space (931GB formatted) USB 2.0 & eSATA Connection Support Sleek Look Light Representing Access (Green LED solid when on, flashes when being accessed) Extremely Quiet
Cons: Green LED Is A Little Bright (can get annoying if watching a movie or anything in a dark environment)
Overall Review: Maximum data transfer speed I got via USB 2.0 was ~43MB/s, not bad, but I was hoping for a little more. It is a quality drive, I've never had data corruption issues. It turns on and connects quickly. It occasionally hiccups when trying to "Safely Remove" but a couple tries and it will disconnect.
Pros: 8GB = 7.44GB Formatted (only 7.44GB of actual space) Small (55 x 19 x 6mm = 2.17 x 0.7 x 0.2in) Sleek Design (black & clear w/ silver connector) Comfortable Material (not smooth, not rough, feels clean) Transportability (can attach to key ring or lanyard without difficulty) In-Use Alert (red LED blinks when the drive is being accessed, off otherwise)
Cons: None (honestly)
Overall Review: I have been using this for quite sometime and it has never corrupted my data or given me any troubles. Max transfer speed I got was around 38MB/s using USB 2.0.
Does What It Is Supposed To
Pros: Rumble Ability Wireless Range (around 100ft) Battery Life (about 50 hours on full charge) Feels Sturdy
Cons: No USB Charge Cable Included
Overall Review: NOTE: The main picture (with the red PS button) is not accurate. This controller does NOT have a built in red LED under the PS button. This is a great controller and fits naturally in your hands.
