Great board for a basic build - supports basic OC option.

ECS A880GM-M7 (V2.0) AM3 AMD 880G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ECS A880GM-M7 (V2.0) AM3 AMD 880G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Good price point for a basic build. Supported the AMD Phenom II X4 840 (95 watt TDP) out of the box. Good incremental voltage increases for the CPU (1.44 runs the 840 @ 3.8 GHz all day long). Two slots for ram - runs ram @ 1600 8-8-8-24 1T without looking back.

Cons: No sideport memory onboard for the onboard 4250 video, so requires used of share memory. Knew that going into it, I'm just saying...

Great CPU for the money right now - OC's well

AMD Phenom II X4 840 - Phenom II X4 Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 95W Desktop Processor - HDX840WFGMBOX

Pros: Very nice and fast CPU - OC'd to 3.8 @ 1.44volts - very stable, not too hot (Zalman 9500 cooling it). 237.5 Mhz reference bus speed, 2375.5 Mhz HT link, core speed 3800 Mhz.

Cons: Doesn't do laundry.

Great memory for the money - and fast timings @ 1600

PNY XLR8 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model MD4096KD3-1600-X8

Pros: Runs all day long at 1600 8-8-8-24 at 1T for command rate (SPD says 2T for command rate, so it's better than SPD without issue). As long as I get the rebate, I'm a very happy camper...

Cons: Rebate
