Acer Laptop TravelMate Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.00GHz) 2GB Memory 120GB HDD ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 15.4" Windows XP Professional TM4674WLMi-ATI X1600

Pros: FAST, this is one fast laptop, great specs, I love the 2 gigs of ram. I'm not limited to running only a handful of programs but instead a bucketload. The 120GB HD is great, I have about 45GB of music and I wanted to fit it all on my laptop without taking out a huge chunk of space (taking 45 gigs out of an 80 gig HD is quite a big chunk, not so much with a 120). I havent played any games on it yet but it performs great on other things such as photoshop. At first I didnt think I would like the empowerment software that is included with it but I found that it offered some pretty nice features. I love that this isnt a "bought out" laptop, that being that it doesnt come with any extra software that you dont need. The VGA and the DVI outputs are awesome, I have a 20.1" screen I can hook it up to if I ever feel the need. I actually have dual monitors on my desktop then an extra monitor not hooked up to the side so can go quad monitors if I hook it up to my laptop (Geek squad here I come)

Cons: When I ran 3dBenchm@rk06 it scored twice as high as my desktop. (it might not seem like a con at first but its kinda depressing seeing your laptop outscore your desktop). The only other con that I can think of would be the screen. I love the matte like the other guy because the glossy just gives off a false sense of "niceness" and it has wayyyyyy too much glare. However, when your not looking at the screen dead on it appears to be slightly grainy. Sure buying a sony or something would be nice, but I'm not in it for the screen, I need the performance.

Overall Review: I bought this laptop for college and I'm going into a media related field so I wanted a laptop that I could help render videos over the network with my desktop. But after seeing the 3d06 score I might need to invest in a new desktop as well.

worth every penny

SAMSUNG 204B-SV 20" UXGA 1600 x 1200 D-Sub, DVI-D LCD Monitor with Height & Pivot Adjustments
SAMSUNG 204B-SV 20" UXGA 1600 x 1200 D-Sub, DVI-D LCD Monitor with Height & Pivot Adjustments

Pros: Great viewing space - 1600 x 1200 doesnt quite do it when you have a smaller screen. I always found myself squinting to read the text. I needed a bigger screen because I could not sacrifice the workspace. Great colors - I could not see any color differences like some other people seem to have complained about. I use photoshop and video editing softwaren such as vegas a lot so this is a big thing for me. 5 ms reponse time - No ghosting, even during games many more - This is just an all around beautiful monitor and it came with zero dead pixels.

Cons: none yet, if any come up I'll post another review

Overall Review: I would suggest not installing the drivers, plug and play works just fine, I had some complications with my video drivers and the monitors drivers, but I think I just installed something wrong. The viewing angle is no problem at all, barely noticable.
