Great card for the price
Pros: I've been needing to get a video card for quite some time. I purchased my computer 2 years ago and had planned on getting one immediately, but am finally now getting around to it. As such, I have a great idea of what my computer was capable without this card, and the difference this card made! What a great card for the price. I don't play a lot of the BIG titles that call for massive amounts of performance and power, but I do like the games I play to look good. The benchmark I used was World of Warcraft. Before the card, when I was just using the onboard built in graphics, I had to play the game with ALL of the graphics turned to low, and it still averaged around 10 - 15fps on average. I turned it up to Ultra, just to see what it could do, and even though a lot of the special graphics features were still off, it could only do around 1 - 2fps. I installed the card, checked the website for an update (there was one. The card came with ver. 9.8 and 9.8.2 was available), and then booted up my game. I didn't change any graphics settings and went straight in. On low, the game was screaming at 140fps. I logged back out, cranked every single graphics feature available to Ultra, turned on all the goodies, view distance at max, and went back in. It averaged 20 - 40fps, depending on the area I was in. Not astounding, but plenty good in my book, and a huge, huge boost over where it was. I now have max view distance, reflections and ripples in the water, shadows on the ground and against buildings, etc. etc. It looks great! For the price, you simply can't beat it. Plus, running the diagnostics program that came with it, it's only peaked at 50% fan speed, and around 55°C (131°F).
Cons: I'm sure there are features that are missing, and it doesn't boast a super high frame rate on max graphics, (20 - 40), but for the price, it'd be silly to expect it.
Overall Review: Great card. When we upgrade my wife to a new computer, I'm getting the same one for her. I've also recommended it to my brother for his.
Really nice case with some very poor oversights.
Pros: This case seems very well put together and thought out. Panel removal is easy and it's nice that it's on both sides. Easily installed everything into it and got it set up. Has a lot of space for hard drive bays, etc. Roomy.
Cons: No idea what they were thinking, but the slide rails for the 3.5" HDD racks are a major shortcoming of this case. No matter which way I faced them, or which way I put them in, or which direction I clipped the rails onto the HDDs, when they clicked into place, the HDDs were butted right up against the edge of the case. So, when I plugged the power and SATA cables into the drives, the cables extended out of the case. The plastic of the power plugs actually came right to the edge of the case. Where are the wires supposed to go? As it stands right now, I can't put the cover on because I can't fold the power cables for the hard drives are in the way. There is ZERO adjustability and you cannot install HDDs without the rails they provide. If you have small 2.5" harddrives, you have no need to worry.
Overall Review: The cons of this case could easily be overcome with adjustable rails. Just make the pins that go into the screw holes on the HDDs adjustable. Let them slide around so you can position them wherever you want.
Awesome and QUIET
Pros: Plenty of juice. 600W is more than enough for my needs. WHISPER quiet. It almost makes no noise whatsoever. I can't believe how quiet it is. Lots of connections.
Cons: While the cords it came with were "extra long", they were still too short. Plus, the distance between multiple connections on the same cable (such as three hard drives on one cable) were much too short.
Overall Review: Will buy again!
Needs some work.
Pros: The keyboard and mouse are very nicely constructed and are solid and well built. They look great, and feel great. The setup is also extremely easy with something popping in some batteries and putting the USB plug in a port. I had an issue with my mouse and the company was great about getting back with me immediately and taking care of the issue and sending me a replacement. Excellent customer service.
Cons: The signal between the mouse/keyboard and the USB needs some work, especially with the keyboard. There are too many times where it'll just start lagging and whole strings of characters are simply left out because it isn't keeping up. Such as typing, "I want to go to the store." will come out as "I want t gtore". It'll just stop receiving signal for a while and I have to retype and retype to get it to go through. This doesn't happen super often (probably once every few days), but it can be a real nuisance, especially for someone who can type 90 - 100 wpm. My only complaint with the mouse is with the casing itself. The shell of the mouse is mirrored, so both sides are the same. However, there are only buttons on the left side. This leaves a cavity on the right side where the buttons *would* be. It's not a deal breaker, but it leaves a sharp, uncomfortable edge that can get annoying on your fingers after a while. I've learned to hole the mouse differently, but I shouldn't have to.
Pros: Nice RAM for the price. Went in without any hitches, everything worked, and my system has been nice and strong since. Swapped out my four 1GB sticks for four 2GB Kingston sticks in my work computer. I also like the casing on the RAM since they come with a protective shell that both protects the RAM and gives you something to hold onto while installing it.
Cons: I haven't had a single problem.
Pros: Easy to install. I've never seen RAM before that came inside casing, but this is the only memory that I've ever installed that made me feel comfortable handling it. Tossed it in my 8 year old computer to give it some extra boost, and it did just that. If the computer wasn't on it's way out the door soon, I'd get another one.
Overall Review: Nice, fast memory. Who wants more?
