Most Favorable Review

Easy install, nice looking, very good cooling

ZEROtherm CORE92 Socket 1156/1366 HDT Cooler
ZEROtherm CORE92 Socket 1156/1366 HDT Cooler

Pros: I bought this as I had a need for a better cooler for my i5. There weren't many out there yet for this job, and most I had looked at were either too big, offering problematic installs, or rather noisy. This one seemed to get less gripes in those departments, so I gave it a shot.

Cons: Screws that hold top plate on a bit loose, I was prewarned that could cause vibration sound. I tightened them up firmly.

Overall Review: Mine runs extremely quiet, and keeps my CPU quite cool, (28c-43c max so far). If you have a side window with a decent view, I'm sure it would look impressive...cannot see mine from outside due to a large LED lit blue fan on the side of my case. Still, this is a great little cooler for the money, and just might be your best bet if you want superior cooling but don't want to wrestle with some of the bulkier, noisier units available.

Excellent performance, and quiet, too

Pros: It's an Asus!. Alright, serious pros, very fast, quieter than my last drive, though I had no real complaints about that. Burns CD's/DVDs very reliably, I've had no failed burns yet. Installation was a breeze, and once it was installed, there was no need for drivers, or anything, (pretty typical these days with CD/DVD drives anyway). I'm also a fan of the look of the faceplate. Not quite as plain as most, Asus put a little effort into making their drive look...well...like their drive. (Mind you, this could be a con for some).

Cons: None for me.

Overall Review: Not a lot to say, the price is great, the performance is great. The drive is the match of any drive near this price easily, and I'd expect the durability to be very good too, (it has been for me, so far).

Inexpensive, quiet, fast!

Western Digital Black WD1501FASS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Black WD1501FASS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Easy install, booted into Windows, used the disk management applet to initialize the disk and format it, and away I went. Slow to format if you don't use a quick format, but otherwise the drive is FAST. It doesn't beat my other brand name drive when it comes to speed, (made by the Korean company with all the nice TV and PC monitors and cellphones), but it is so close in performance that I doubt you'd percieve any real difference.

Cons: It's not as shiny as my other drive. (like anyone can see it).

Overall Review: If you're on the fence, don't be, failure rate seems low for this drive, most of the 'failures' I've read here seem to be because people didn't know that after you install the drive, you must initialize/partition it, and format it, to make it usable. The rest of the failures here are to be expected, shipping hard drives can damage them, so a small percentage of drives will arrive dead. Even buying local won't fix that. The drive doesn't come with any real 'instructions', so if you're not sure what you're doing, you'd be well advised to hit your favorite search engine up and learn how to install a Hard Disk for the operating system you use. Good luck!

Extremely quiet fans

MASSCOOL SL-FD12025 Case fan with fan guard
MASSCOOL SL-FD12025 Case fan with fan guard

Pros: Purchased these fans to supplement my array of spare 120mm case fans. Installed one immediately into my old Ultr@ power supply, and the decrease in noise from the PSU is well worth the money spent.

Cons: Not a con for me as I'm trying to quiet my machines down, but if you need to move a LOT of air, these are not the fans for you.

Overall Review: The past 3 years I've become more and more aware of the noise my machines put out. My older machine is noisier than my old IBM PC/XT was with it's old Micropolis 20mg hard disk, (that thing was like 4 inches tall, and it sounded like a small jet engine...man that was noisy!). Fans like this are reducing the noise from my old machine considerably. No longer do I have to crank up the TV to hear it.

Good fan, moves the air, very quiet

Rexus Rexflo250mm Blue 250 mm Blue LED Silent LED FAN
Rexus Rexflo250mm Blue 250 mm Blue LED Silent LED FAN

Pros: Well packaged. Very nice looking fan, lights are a little brighter than my current fan, but not by much. The fan moves a good deal of air, and makes no noise I can detect, making it at least as quiet as the fan I have in my E^ermax Neo Phoenix case now.

Cons: No speed controller, not really a con, don't really need one with this type of fan.

Overall Review: Purchased as a backup for the side fan in my case. Put it into my case, it works fine with my case's bezel. I did not hook it to the built in speed control in the bezel for my test, just ran it a week to be sure it'd be a suitable spare. The included bezel is very nice, and this fan/bezel could be added to just about any case's side panel with just a little effort cutting a hole the right size in the panel.

Pretty sweet

SAMSUNG P2570HD 24.6" 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI, Component, Composite, DTV Tuner, Optical Out Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor
SAMSUNG P2570HD 24.6" 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI, Component, Composite, DTV Tuner, Optical Out Built-in Speakers LCD Monitor

Pros: This monitor, as a TV, has a very nice picture, colors are crisp, vibrant, and once I turned the backlight down a few notches, the blacks are very dark, whites brilliant. As a monitor, it does even better, with surprisingly brilliant colors, and a very fast response time. Compared against a number of other brands, to my eyes it was the clear winner hands down against any panel near it's price, (surprising considering unlike those I compared it with, this is both a TV and a monitor). Not one dead pixel. Yay Samsung!

Cons: Only 1 HDMI port, could be a deal breaker for some. It does have a DVI input however, so a second HDMI in could be done there with an adapter.

Overall Review: A year ago, I bought a similar TV/Monitor by the same brand, (the T260HD), was extremely pleased with the unit. Recently, I 'stole' that set to use as another monitor, so was in need of a new TV. After some study, I settled on this unit, and I couldn't be more pleased with Samsung at the moment.
