X1950XT

SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950XT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100186L
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950XT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100186L

Pros: Image quality is amazing. I upgraded after selling off my XFX 7900GT EE. Its a good improvement in every game I play. About 20% gains in Company of Heroes. 5 - 10% in other games. 675/1900 clocks are there for the taking...just bump them up and there are no issues. NEWEGG rocks as usual on service and delivery. UPS was even on time. The teamsters must be soaking up the OT and actually providing a service.

Cons: Current drivers do not recognize this card. ATI will supposedly correct this in a few days. INF file issue..Use the drivers on the cd that comes inside the package for now and life will be good for you. I would also recommend the Accelero X2. Stock cooling is a bit loud under load and temps stay around 60C.

Overall Review: The review below is somewhat correct: It requires a 6pin power plug from your PS. You may want to think twice if you dont have one. Chances are it time to upgrade and scrap the idea of the adaptor.

Most Critical Review

$244.00 Paperweight

Apple iPod Classic 80GB (BLACK)
Apple iPod Classic 80GB (BLACK)

Pros: Looks great. No other brand has the list of accessories like IPOD.

Cons: This Ipod was dead in just 12 days. Apple support isn't the best in the world. They are very slow but effective (to be fair).

Overall Review: Newegg is great but they will not stand behind you on these jewels. If it breaks or delivers DOA you have to deal with Apple. The customer service stops once they ship the item. Probably some Apple policy which helps hide their failure rates.

Reviews Are Wrong - Great Card

SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Video Card 11314-01-20G
SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 6500 XT 4GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Video Card 11314-01-20G

Pros: Nearly silent Plays my games at highest settings Runs my dual monitor set up Not one issue so far

Cons: Not one thing wrong with this card

Overall Review: I am not trying to get 4000 FPS on games. I just wanted something that would run those games I play and not sound like a hair dryer. This card is exactly that for a fair price is this mining market. Very happy!

Upgraded from DS212J After 5 Years

Synology 2 bay NAS Disk Station, DS218play (Diskless)
Synology 2 bay NAS Disk Station, DS218play (Diskless)

Pros: Supports updated OS (unlike DS212j) Migrated drives from DS212J without any issues (took 2 minutes) and no data loss Streams HD movies without issues USB 3.0 Support Same exact size as before but the black color is better looking to me

Cons: Doesnt support PLEX (donest impact me streaming) No expansion for memory Would like a UBS on the front panel

Overall Review: I expect another 4 to 5 years from this unit. I hope Synology can be a little more aware of the resources required by its updates. Dont get caught up in the PLEX game. You dont need it to steam HD movies. DS video works well on all of my tvs, iPads and phones.

Great Memory Overall

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVRB

Pros: Fast speeds Profile works as promised for great memory speeds Good looking memory G.Skill never lets me down

Cons: No cons other than the AMD 2700X CPU paired it with. No overclocking to be had and turbo mode is 3.95 max. Man and I disappointed. First time with AMD in over 10 years and now I remember why.

Overall Review: G.Skill has been rocking memory for years. Its always my go to on new builds. They never let me down.

Coming from a 4 year old 4790k

AMD Ryzen 7 2nd Gen - Ryzen 7 2700X Pinnacle Ridge (Zen+) 8-Core 3.7 GHz (4.3 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 105W YD270XBGAFBOX Desktop Processor
AMD Ryzen 7 2nd Gen - Ryzen 7 2700X Pinnacle Ridge (Zen+) 8-Core 3.7 GHz (4.3 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 105W YD270XBGAFBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: High core count at a decent price

Cons: Not an overclocker Turbo is good for only 3.95 using excellent memory and bumping voltage AMD still uses pins that bend easy Cooler ratings are hype - too loud and temps on stock clocking still hit 65C

Overall Review: This long and hard about upgrading. I honestly think I made a big mistake based on review hype. This was my first round with AMD in 10 years or so. Very disappointed overall. Maybe 3% gains over my 4790k overall. Ugh...
