Good board, but beware of High TDP CPU's

MSI 760GM-P33 AM3 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 760GM-P33 AM3 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: It's really a fine board if you're a casual user. Too bad I'm not. Nice to have the serial port. I'm probably the only one who would list that as a pro lol.

Cons: Cannot handle high TDP CPU's like my 1090t. Without an overclock, I ran Handbrake to encode a movie. An hour later while web surfing, my computer suddenly shut down. It smelled like something cooked. I touched the CPU VRMs and they burnt my finger immediately. Too bad you can't monitor VRM temperature as these were well above what is safe.

Overall Review: Currently RMA'd it for a board that can handle the power. 3.2 Ghz1090t 8 GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3 Nvidia 460 GTX 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 750W PC Power and Cooling PSU

Get what you pay for

ePOWER TVPS550 550 W ATX12V Power Supply
ePOWER TVPS550 550 W ATX12V Power Supply

Pros: *Read Other Thoughts first* Cheap! i got it for $20 shipped on a newegg shellshocker deal.

Cons: Yesterday, I tried to boot, but it would freeze after post. Perhaps i was getting an unacceptable voltage like another reviewer said. I don't know for sure. I was unable to test that. Anyway, I got distracted by my roommate and 30 minutes later I hear what sounds like firecrackers and see sparks coming out of the power supply. I unplugged it and have not touched it since. There wasn't too much smoke, so I was not concerned about the smoke alarms going off, but I opened the windows to air out the smell. At least this didn't sound like a shotgun like I remember reading a review a while back on a cheap Rosewill PSU. Also there is no UL certification listed on the unit as another reviewer stated. Another weird thing, the manufacturer's website says nothing about power supplies, only external drive cases and adapters and "other" - only there is no product information what so ever in the adapters and "other" categories.

Overall Review: Backstory: I recently upgraded all of my computer components except for the power supply. This left me another complete computer minus the PSU. I saw the deal and thought I could get the old core two duo back up and running. Unfortunately I did not assemble my old desktop until a month later.

Rails that are, well, rails.

NORCO RL-26 Heavy-Duty Slide Ball Bearing Rail
NORCO RL-26 Heavy-Duty Slide Ball Bearing Rail

Pros: Heavy duty. Nice and greasy.

Cons: Feels stiff the first 4 inches sliding out, but how often do you really need to extend it?

Overall Review: I'm new to racking things and I happened to check the reviews of this the day It arrived. Like others, I ordered this because it was listed as compatable with my NORCO RPC-4220. Several recent reviews said they had to drill new holes to make it fit. I had zero issues with it. I tried to recreate the holes not lining up, but that can only be done if the rail is put on backwards. Rotating 180 degrees fixes that. If there were any issues with the rails before, they've been resolved

WD My Book Live 2TB Personal Cloud Storage
WD My Book Live 2TB Personal Cloud Storage

Pros: Simple to get going! 2 TB is going to take a while to fill :D

Cons: First and foremost, the web interface is slow as molasses. After setting up a couple shares and accounts, I don't intend on using it again. While this isn't a big deal for me, I'm sure others will use it more frequently. I'm completely satisfied with ftp access, which is as fast as it should be.

Overall Review: I bought this particular NAS based on a smallnetbuilder.com review. Compared to other NASes, this had the best transfer throughput at around 60MB/s. Yes, there is no USB. This is a NAS. Make sure you get what is appropriate for you needs. As far as failed drives go, failed drives is the norm, not the exception. If you decided to put all your data on this drive with no backup, well then that's your problem. Always remember this question: how much is your data worth?

Quality product

Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker
Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet, and Ice Cream Maker

Pros: Easy to use and easy to clean.

Cons: It is rather noisy, but it only takes 25 minuets.

Overall Review: I've been using this model for several years now and have made dozens of batches for events at my house and as a general replacement for my old hometown's ice cream shop. I recommend to freeze the freezer bowl overnight as well as refrigerate the ice cream mixture for several hours before putting mixture into ice cream maker. that way it freezes the fastest and has the smoothest texture. The recipes i tried in the booklet that it comes with aren't that great. I use Alton Brown's recipe from the food network. Buy it and amaze your friends.
