Been fine for over a month

G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-16GAB
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-16GAB

Pros: I have been running these sticks at 2133 for over a month with no errors. I have used G-skill products before and have always had good results. I once even had to deal with their customer service (not for this product in particular) and it wasn't a nightmare.

Cons: Well as usually they didn't default to 2133. It was either 1333 or 1600. But a quick change from "auto" to 2133 solved that in my BIOS. And the best part was I didn't have to tweak the voltage. I've had to do that in the past.

6 - 7 months later not so good

Rosewill RNX-AC1200UBE2 - Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Adapter - IEEE 802.11AC a / b / g / n, Up to 867 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 300 Mbps (2.4 GHz) Wi-Fi Data Rates, USB 3.0 Interface
Rosewill RNX-AC1200UBE2 - Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Adapter - IEEE 802.11AC a / b / g / n, Up to 867 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 300 Mbps (2.4 GHz) Wi-Fi Data Rates, USB 3.0 Interface

Pros: In the first 6 - 7 months this adapter worked great. Very fast to connect and had great speeds. I also really like the stand it came with

Cons: Now that I've had it for a while it is suddenly dropping WiFi constantly. It will happen right in the middle of videos or even just page browsing. I have to unplug the device and then plug it back in to get it to work. Sometimes it takes multiple tries to get it to pick up WiFi networks again. And then it is only a matter of time until it drops again, sometimes just 5 minutes later. Very annoying and unreliable

Works if you need a slim fan

GELID Solutions Slim 12 UV BLUE Case Fan
GELID Solutions Slim 12 UV BLUE Case Fan

Pros: Normally I don't review fans but I see some reviews I want to clear up. First, this fan doesn't come with LEDs, so its not supposed to light up... there is a model that comes with them; it costs a little more. The fins are supposed to be UV reactive I guess, but the fan doesn't have any light source itself. Beyond that, I am quite impressed with how quiet this fan is. I was worried that a slimmer fan might have more motor whine to it, but it is quite quiet. The airflow is great too, working as well as a regular sized fan (I mean it's no scythe gentle typhoon, but it moves as much air or more than a stock case fan). There aren't very many options on the market for a slimmer fan, but thankfully this one is working well.

Cons: Yes I agree it is a bad design that the screw holes are designed to only mount this fan as an exhaust. If you need a slim fan as an intake, you can still use this one by hitting up your local hardware store. Just get some screws and bolts and do a bolt-through mount. Individual misc. pieces from the store are usually 8 - 10 cents a piece. Your standard computer screw is #6 32-threading if you want to stick with the standard (or if you are mounting this to a radiator like me).

Overall Review: I was putting a cooler master H60 in a Lian Li PC-Q08. I needed a slimmer fan for the radiator. This works perfectly.

great little bundle

eForCity 360 Rotating Leather Case Cover Folio Cover Compatible With BARNES & NOBLE Nook HD+ plus 9" Black
eForCity 360 Rotating Leather Case Cover Folio Cover Compatible With BARNES & NOBLE Nook HD+ plus 9" Black

Pros: I got this for my GF's nook and she loves it. The case is nice and she likes that she can turn the nook sideways. For $20ish you get a lot of extras.

Cons: The screen protector was useless. This could easily be user error (I am not a patient man) but I couldn't keep bubbles out from under the screen and she couldn't get it to work either. So, we both tried and failed. I don't know if that is our fault or the product's. But the rest of the stuff is great and the price on this bundle is too.

My first ITX build

LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case

Pros: Ok, let m preface this by saying this is my first ITX build. Overall I am happy with the case, but it is not perfect. I chose it because it was the right size. Some ITX cases are more cube shaped, which makes them wide. I wanted to reduce the overall footprint of my PC. I went with this case because it isn't any wider than a normal mid-sized ATX case (and it of course has much less height and depth, but width is what you really need to check). It is a beautiful looking case, it has the iconic Lian Li brushed look. And it is very very light, even with all my parts inside of it. Not only because it is smaller, but also because it is fully aluminum. It has an optical drive bay, which was a must-have for me. It will fit a full sized card, which requires removing part of the HDD bay, but even after doing so it still supports up to 4 HDD devices (and I needed at least 3). The front ports are USB 3.0. And there is no front e-sata (at this point in time I believe this will be (or already is) fazed out by USB 3.0). The fans are nice and quiet, and I'm glad to get 2 fans with the case. The side panel is vented so you can have the PSU fan face outwards. Lastly, I was pleased with the space between the top fan and the PSU. I was able to mount my cooler master H60. I did use a slimmer aftermarket fan for it. If I stuck with the stock fan that was included on the radiator, there would have been literally no space between it and the PSU, so half the fan would have been snuffed.

Cons: Ugh. The motherboard tray IS the other side panel. So... yes the motherboard tray is removable. But it's the whole side panel. If you want to take off that side panel to do any work (like, oh, put in or remove the optical drive or route wires) you better be prepared to basically un-assemble the whole computer. Also, the side panels are held in by six tiny screws. There had to have been a better way to do this. I know, this sounds really nit picky. And I get it, I'm sacrificing space for a smaller form factor. But six little screws to hold in a side panel? Why couldn't it just be a normal slide-in system where you put two screws in the back (like every other case (including other ITX ones))? And why did the mobo have to mount to the other panel? All that was needed was two small bars to run from the back of the case to the front with the 4 standoffs on them. ITX boards only have 4 standoffs, there was room in here to have it mount to a couple strips of support metal as opposed to the panel. I'm still happy with the case overall. It was the right size. It looks sleek and professional. But I can't call it perfect. I would still recommend this case over some other popular but bulky ones (if you don't know what cases I mean and haven't had a chance to look in person, just always check the dimensions online. It isn't always easy to tell from pictures).

Overall Review: This isn't a con, it's just something to point out. I couldn't see getting a power supply, even modular, beyond 6.5" long into this case. My current 650W one is 6.3" and it is tiiiight. The cables are smashed against the HDD rack. Just something you should know going in (Power supplies get longer the more powerful they are. 7 inches is pretty common and I just don't see them making it in). Of course if you are removing the entire HDD cage then put a 1000W in if you want. And on that point, there is plenty of space at the bottom of the case (even with a full sized video card) to rig up your own mounting holes for SSDs if you wanted. But I needed two regular HDDs in mine.

Update to a previous review

Rosewill RNX-AC1200UBE - Dual Band Wireless AC1200 Adapter - IEEE 802.11AC a / b / g / n, Up to 867 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 300 Mbps (2.4 GHz) Data Rates, USB 3.0 Interface

Pros: I had only tested this device on windows 7 machines. It was working great, I just thought it odd that I had to use the driver CD as opposed to windows auto-installing the device. Now I am using it on a Windows 8.1 machine. The WIFI is running just as great as before. Plus, Windows 8 was able to auto-install the drivers. I didn't need the CD this time.

Cons: It is kind of wide. Makes it hard to impossible to use adjacent USB ports. I'm considering getting a USB 3.0 extension wire.

Overall Review: I saw some reviews either asking about windows compatibility or knocking it. I can say that it works well on both 7 and 8, and I have been using this for over a month now. So if there were any driver issues at one time they seem to be cleaned up.

I got the product fast

The price was good and the product arrived quickly. I didn't even realize I wasn't ordering directly from newegg because I got it just as fast as I would have expected (and I'm pretty used to Newegg shipping everything quickly).

Represented the newegg name well

I've come to trust Newegg and respect them for their quality customer service and fast shipping over the years. This seller shipped just as fast. No idea about their customer service, didn't have to deal with them, but I'm sure Newegg wouldn't associate with shady sellers.
