Pros: The drive works perfectly and does exactly what I wanted it to, which is to give me a MASSIVE amount of storage space.

Cons: My system will not boot up if the drive is plugged in. Fortunately, I have a hopped up surge protector that has switches for each plug, so I can switch the drive on an off as needed. There was no option in my mobo's BIOS to disable booting from USB devices.

Overall Review: This is a good drive, but you should check your mobo's BIOS BEFORE you buy it so that you can see if you can disable booting from USB devices there. if you can, then this is a good deal. If you can't, or there is no option for it (as in my case), then be prepared to unplug the drive when you power down or restart your system.

Comments: This thing is GREAT!!! My 2.8C P4 Northwood cpu ran at about 35C idle and about 60-65C at full load with the stock Intel heatsink and fan, but with the Alpha, it idles at 32C and has yet to get past 45C when being pushed, and that is AFTER I OC'ed it to 3.332ghz. My only problems with it were: 1. you do have to remove your motherboard to install it, and that includes removing the bracket that holds the original heatsink. and 2. The Delta fan that comes with is a bit on the noisy side. It's not much of a problem for me, as it's just one more fan in my case that has about 6 fans in it. Also, the fan is essentially a normal 80x80x25mm case fan, so if you have or want a quieter fan, you can just get a regular case fan and be ok too. I wholeheartedly reccommend this fan to anyone who is in need of extra cooling and who doesn't mind the extra work of installing it. And as always, Newegg rocks. Good service, fast delivery, and low prices...what's not to like?
