Pros: I got this card as an upgrade to my old 1GB GeForce 8800 GTS, and I'm more than pleased! For the price, this card can do great things, and even has sound support if your monitor has built in speakers. The card is virtually silent and small and compact enough to fit in any case.

Cons: The card only has one standard fan, and is definitely incapable of being modified or overclocked. This shouldn't be a problem in the 1GB models, but the 2GB models (especially the superclocked ones) will probably need more ventilation, so make sure you have at least one independent fan in your case.

Pros: Creative is a solid manufacturer when it comes to audio-relative hardware, and the Sound Blaster Audigy series is definite proof of that. The SE has the highest functionality and versatility compared to any other card in its class. Is it top of the line? No. But it is incredible given the very low price. The card supports everything from stereo to 7.1. On my own home rig, I only use 2.1 analog speakers, but I've heard great things from both digital and analog users for up to 5.1 (I assume 7.1 is good, too). The card is also small and easily installed, requiring only a motherboard slot. The card is best used on a rig where sound isn't top priority. All gaming and home-related needs are more than covered by this card's incredible quality, but I wouldn't recommend it in the studio.

Cons: While the hardware is easy to install, the plate itself is unusually long. This required me to actually snip off the end of the plate to get it to fit into my case, and my case is pretty long. I can't imagine this being a huge problem for anyone, as it wasn't one for me, but I thought I should mention it. The reason this review is only three stars is for the software and driver installation... The included CD will install all drivers needed for up to Windows 7, but not beyond. As a Windows 8 user, I had to go to Creative's site and download the driver there. That wasn't the biggest problem, though. The installation directions included with the card are miscellaneous instructions for "value" cards. This is a little insulting to the customer, as it makes you feel as if Creative is trying to convince you that you didn't spend as much as you should have. The instructions are vague and not very helpful, and it took me a while to figure out how to install my speakers. These issues are mostly user error on my part, but I didn't appreciate the "value" instructions... Creative's customer support is also page and email only, no phone.

Overall Review: The bottom line is this: If you're looking for an inexpensive and effective card on your home/gaming rig, get this card!

Pros: So, I've done a lot of research on this card, because it's widely considered to be "the best card on the market." Now, I'm a total EVGA fanboy, so I figured I'd really gravitate to this card. Now, I'm not saying this card isn't incredible, because it is. It's top-shelf modern technology at it's finest. But that's the problem: who needs it right now? The card is about twice as powerful as it needs to be to play the most graphic intensive games out right now. For over $1,000 (the most expensive single-function individual piece of hardware in EVGA's history), this card is too out of it's own league. You wouldn't even notice the luxury of it because there are people with cards that are half as powerful and a third the price that can do the same thing. Again, I'm not insulting the card, because it will last for years upon years, and that's probably more of what you're paying for. I'm saying that there's not enough of a playing field to test it on.

Cons: Way too expensive and, in reality, unnecessary right now.
