Amazing Card for the Money

MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card N650TI TF 2GD5/OC BE
MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card N650TI TF 2GD5/OC BE

Pros: Absolutely amazing card for the money. Got this for $140 after rebate (read below) and after I sold my old card on craigslist basically walked away with a $250 card for like $90. Much, much faster than the Radeon HD 5750 It replaced. Plays heavily modded skyrim with ENB and 2K textures 30-40 FPS. BF3 on Ultra 60+ FPS. Tomb Raider Ultra with TressFX 40-50fps. GTAIV with ENB and HD textures 30-40 FPS. And I haven't even begun overclocking.

Cons: Really only 2 cons. MSI Afterburner software that came with the card, and even the new stable/beta versions crash the game every time. I read online that if you turn off the Steam/Origin overlays it will work but no such luck. REBATE fail. I've never had a problem with a rebate before but my rebate was denied because I included the packing list that Newegg sent rather than the invoice to save on paper. Same document, different heading. Whatever, I print out the invoice and mail it, 3 days later no change. I have to call them and argue with them on the phone to approve the rebate, and they finally approve it a month later. Now I have to wait 8-10 weeks for them to even send it. *facepalm*

Overall Review: My specs for FPS reference AMD FX6300 OC'd to 4.4ghz. 8gb DDR3 1600 800W PSU

Wante to love it

GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: When it works it works pretty decently, it has a lot of eye candy.

Cons: - Not reliable. I've been through 4 of these boards now and each one has fried itself to some varying degree. 2 of them have had the same problem where the board simply just stops working and the system won't power on. You of course can RMA but it takes 3 - 4 weeks from creating a ticket and mailing it to them to get a new board. - The audio drivers are awful. The creative chip works pretty well, but if you have a 5.1 system every single time you start your system you have to unplug your system and reset the software to 5.1. Only takes a second, but dear lord is it a pain.

Overall Review: I really wanted to like this board, but just these issues I've had has turned me off to Gigabyte as a brand. Their support is godawful and having to argue with them that the board is broken and yes I did this and that. I've had this board for less then a year and I've had 4 different ones now. No thank you I'm switching to Asus.

Great Memory, if you can get it on sale

HyperX Blu Red Series 8GB DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model KHX16C10B1R/8
HyperX Blu Red Series 8GB DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model KHX16C10B1R/8

Pros: Really great memory, especially since I got it on sale. I have to of these installed for 16gb, and it works great!

Cons: None really. Price might be one. if you can get it on sale, great, but otherwise buy a dual or quad-channel kit to get the extra bandwidth and save money.

Overall Review: Make sure that if you buy 2 dimms of this, you don't install it in dual-channel mode. So, do not put it in the same-colored odd/even slot pairs, but next to each other. I got so used to dual-channel memory that I instinctively installed it this way and thought I had bad memory when my system would only read it as 8gb of available memory.

So much case for the value!

Cooler Master CM 690 III - Mid Tower Computer Case with Seidon 120V Water Cooling System and Windowed Side Panel
Cooler Master CM 690 III - Mid Tower Computer Case with Seidon 120V Water Cooling System and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: Having upgraded from the CM 690 II, I say with some experience that this case is worth every penny. I mean, it comes with a $60 water cooler. Even without the cooler though this case is worth it. I love the configurable hard drive stack, removable top section to more easily install fans or radiator, extra space in the back compartment for wiring, and all the little touches that make this case so worth it. I was a little worried I wouldn't get as much cooling since it didn't have any side-panel fan-mounts, but especially with the water cooler my system is is running about 15-20C cooler, even with an additional .2ghz overclock on the cpu.

Cons: My only two complaints, which really don't affect my review, is that first of all the wire holes on the side of the board space don't have the rubber groments that they did in the CM 690 II. This really doesn't affect me at all, and is really only a aesthetic touch anyways. Secondly the screws on the removable PCI expansion slots aren't the thumb-grip kind that came on the 690 II, meaning you have to use a screwdriver to remove cards. Once again, not a big deal considering the value of the case.

Overall Review: For those wondering about the CPU cooler, it is not a cheap throw-in. It keeps my 4.8ghz @1.5V FX-6300 below 45C under load. It comes with AMD/Intel brackets and is actually easier to install then the my old air cooler was.

Best wireless headset for the price

Turtle Beach Ear Force X41 (XBOX LIVE Chat + Wireless Digital RF Game Audio, Dolby Headphone 7.1 Surround Sound)
Turtle Beach Ear Force X41 (XBOX LIVE Chat + Wireless Digital RF Game Audio, Dolby Headphone 7.1 Surround Sound)

Pros: Only $60, great quality and construction, great audio. Unless you have $300 for a Astro A50 than this is the way to go, considering how inexpensive it was. This is even better than the old TB true 5.1 headset with 6 speakers an ear I got years ago that fell apart in 3 months. 2 months later and no problems. Love how the reciever is also a stand.

Cons: People have said it's "really comfortable" and I "barely notice it." Honestly, that's a lie. You do notice it, especially if you're not used to wearing bulky headphones. As I've used it more it's become less of a problem, but it's still there. Microphone only works if you're using Xbox 360 (I'm a pure PC gamer). Since I have a wired 360 controller it's not a big deal but kind of defeats the purpose of having a wireless headset. Also, this is only powered by AAA batteries, and if you use it heavily they only last a few days to a week. I use them a few hours a day so I can get about 3 weeks out of it, but it's still really kind of wasteful. Go out and get rechargeable AAA for $10 or get some here when you check out.

Overall Review: I don't know why they discontinued this version.
