Great Board!

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: The board works fine w/ both Linux (SuSE 10.2) and Windows Server 2003. The boards feature, documentation and accessories are as good as any. Placement of connectors is convenient. (Your mileage may vary)

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I'm planning on using this board for Linux server Samba and VMWare. I don't care about OC-ing, and I'm not a gamer, but even w/ an X2 3800+ performance is good. I wanted a board w/ linux support, RAID 5, and able to take at least 4 GB of RAM. I haven't played w/ the RAID functionality much yet, but so far so good. If you buy this board, you need get a roomy case. The board was a bit wide for the case that I originally wanted to use. If you actually intend to use all of the features you're going to need a roomy case anyway so this isn't really negative, but a reminder. You should also allow yourself time to read the entire manual before slapping things together. (There is plenty of documentation.)

Avoid this board - Poor QA

BIOSTAR NF325-A7 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250 ATX AMD Motherboard
BIOSTAR NF325-A7 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Price.

Cons: Board was DOA. When powered up it gave beep codes indicating memory recognition issues, and would not POST. I tried a number of know good memory sticks (Crucial, Samsung, etc.) w/o success. The memory was supposed to work w/ the board. Also tried swapping VGA card, PSU, etc. QA is lacking! Sent a support email to Biostar but never recieved a response. The paper manual is pretty limited and was written for seveal different versions so many diagramns are of type "You board may have this, or it may have that, or it may have nothing". OK, so I figured I'd look online thinking that maybe they just wanted to save trees. There wasn't really any additional info on Biostar's website. This is a pretty low level of support and documentation

Overall Review: Not alot comes with this board beyond a a very thin manual. I noramlly buy higher end boards, but thought I might save some $. (Bad Mistake) Also before purchasing, look at the photos of the board layout and think about where the PATA connections are placed on the MB. Depending on your enclosure, you may have problems hooking up a CD/DVD. (Also the placement of the SATA connector is far from ideal, but that is less serious.)
