StarTech.com ATX24POWEXT 8 in. Power Extension Cable for 24 pin ATX 2.01 Motherboards Female to Male
StarTech.com ATX24POWEXT 8 in. Power Extension Cable for 24 pin ATX 2.01 Motherboards Female to Male

Pros: does exactly what it's supposed to

Cons: not sleeved, but wouldn't expect that for this price

Overall Review: this was pretty helpful in allowing me to effectively manage my cables behind my mobo tray; combined with a 12" extension for the 8-pin power cable, this was the cleanest build I've done yet

First one was DOA, second one works great.

Logitech S-220 17 Watts 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System
Logitech S-220 17 Watts 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System

Pros: Overall, very pleased with the quality. I ordered these for myself about 6 months ago. My Logitech X-230 system appeared to die, so I ordered this as a replacement. The left speaker was sounding "tinny", and the sound quality was poor. I tinkered with my X-230 system and fixed it. Sent this S-220 set back for a refund. Just this past week, I assembled a PC for a friend and ordered these to go with it. This time, no problems. Sound quality is solid. Price is very reasonable. I like the wired pod where you can plug in a mic or headset; that's a great feature and I wish I had it on my setup. The sub isn't anything great, but it's not shabby. The overall design is good, not flashy but not bland. For the price, it's definitely a good choice.

Cons: First one was defective. Newegg took the return, no issues there. It happens; no need to deduct an egg from the rating. The wired pod is pretty light and moves around too easily; just making it heavier would solve that minor issue.

Overall Review: Out of the box, the speakers appear to be very close together, as if the cord isn't long enough for you to wrap them around the back of your monitor. The cords are designed to separate a bit to give extra length. Just pull the speakers away from each other until you have enough length.

good board, some minor things

ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: well, it works, unlike the DOA board i received initially fairly straightforward to use no significant issues, all connections working fine nice idea to have a "clear CMOS" button the back, and a set of power/reset buttons on the actual board itself documentation + software/drivers disc was included and has served their purposes been using this for some moderate gaming, mild media editing (images/music/video), and basic browsing/school purposes

Cons: just small things, but enough of them that i can only give a 4 out of 5 rating the SATA ports are oriented parallel to the board; this always bugs me, wish i realized this beforehand, would definitely prefer ports that are perpendicular to the board the placement of the front panel audio connector port on the board is just terrible, it's way too close to the PCIe x16 slot, this just doesn't make any sense to me the onboard sound is poor; it would randomly cut out for about 1-2 seconds then come back; my old sound card is working fine for now, but this means i have no way to use the front audio panel connections onboard LAN was causing some problems, it would have random hiccups and poor performance for some periods of time; using a separate NIC card for now and it's working fine some people *might* argue that the AM3 socket is too high up on the board, possibly interfering with case fans; i can see how this would be an issue but it's fine for me
