Gaming case ? closer to a Server case

Rosewill THRONE - G - Window Gunmetal ATX Full Tower Gaming Computer Case - Supports E-ATX / XL-ATX & Up to 8 Fans
Rosewill THRONE - G - Window Gunmetal ATX Full Tower Gaming Computer Case - Supports E-ATX / XL-ATX & Up to 8 Fans

Pros: Comes with 7 140mm fans. Built in fan controls and SATA dock. Semi tool less. 9 hard drive slots. A 140mm radiator easy fit on the exhaust port. Cant see the broken window fom the outside. This would be a good case for a AMD Sabertooth server with ECC ram & a 8 core CPU. Lots of spaces for hard drives.

Cons: Mount a 240 or 280 radiator ? OK in the top, if you don,t mind using memory without heat spreaders. well a 280 might fit if it is a thin one (20mm) . in the front of the HHD cage, nope. Behind the cage maybe, if your not using long cards like windforce or GTX690. If you could remove the HDD cage and take 8 of those out it would be good thing. Remember? There is a SATA dock on top. It does not come with a dremel tool and drill. Oh BTW the window broke during shipment.

Overall Review: I would send this thing back, but it took a while for it to get here. My drill and dremel are close by. IF your radiator uses 3mm screws you need a drill and tap for that too.

works better than expected

VisionTek Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 900301
VisionTek Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card 900301

Pros: low power consumption, DX 11, HDMI out, DVI out, did not have 2 replace pwr supply. actually could run 2 5750s with same supply and a low power phenom II

Cons: does not come with crossfire cable, should nicked a 1/2 egg

Overall Review: running on 890 chipset, 4000+ x2, 4 gb 1006 ddr2, neo 550, blu-ray dvd all at 10-15 degrees above ambient. the onboard video didnt have enough umph for blu-ray. Can simulteaneosly run 22" monitor @ full res (beyond 1080i) & 32" hdtv/monitor @ 1080i, surfing & gaming & watching blu ray can done at the same time. me ole lady like it like dat.

works with 32 bit i7

VisionTek 900192 TV Wonder 650 Combo PCIe HDTV Tuner PVR w/Remote
VisionTek 900192 TV Wonder 650 Combo PCIe HDTV Tuner PVR w/Remote

Pros: All your media in one spot, IR remote control. Auto sizes with broadcast signal

Cons: obsolete D-link USB FM tuner works better using same antenna. the rest of the card deserves 5 eggs. Uses same tuner for cable and FM. The terrestial antenna input only does only air broadcast for hdtv.

Overall Review: I get 1080i on my 22" LCD monitor, or it just looks better than the 52" 720 HDTV picture. Requires powered antenna for air broadcast HDTV reception. works fine (1040i ?) with asus m478-e, black 9550 and onboard video, 1 sata drive, ide dvd, 2x2 gb ram and 550 watt power supply. I need more pwr sup watts to do crossfire video. I am not sure if it can crossfire bridge. I am curious what it would do with a made for tv blue-ray player. I guess I will mark that future Newegg purchase. The tuner was puchased from another online store. Everthing else was from NewEgg. w7 OS, using only the drivers and software that came with the mobo and tuner card.

Difference between 78-e &78t-e

ASUS M4A78-E AM3/AM2+ AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A78-E AM3/AM2+ AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Fits ANY Phenom x4 AMD CPU, 78T-E fits only AM3. lots of connections. USB, Firewire, PS2, SATA, HDMI. I had 7 USB cables connected when I jacked up the rear connectors. Works Great with ATI 650 dual channel HDTV.

Cons: Shares same noisy sound chip, Ok maybe I should not be running my amp @ level 11 of 10. Did not like get getting the usb connector yanked, lost video, Fire wire & 2 USB

Overall Review: the 78T-E does Phenom II CPUs.....Check ASUS for the right ones. Easy too confuse the 2 boards. 1 SATA HD, DVD drive, 2x2 Gb Gskill, ATI 650 tuner (cable & Free to air), Stock cooler, 955 black CPU, Neo 550 PWR supply and Dlink FM tuner on winXP. Not sure what functional difference is between the 2 boards

asus m4a78t-e

ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: lots of connectors, works well with ati media center (ATI 650 HDTV CARD) It really does not need a 4 core black AMD CPU, core temp is 127 F with a 79F ambient with stock cooler. I let the software control the CPU. I use the Gskill 2x2 Gb memory listed on ASUS site. The Express gate feature & AI nap helps with the lengthy cold boot.

Cons: Humm, I dont know.

Overall Review: Its not a good idea to give the usb connector a healthy tug. Got carried away playing games, cracked the Mobo going to buy another.
