Intel X25-M Mainstream 2.5" 160GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2M160G2XXX

Pros: This is a great upgrade if it is speed you are after. The best upgrade I have done in years. Fast ! If you are on the fence about this purchase get off and join the SSD movement. Start up and shut down is lightning fast. Can run multiple programs as fast as changing a tv channel

Cons: None to date!

Overall Review: Do your home work, make sure you update the firmware and make sure all your drivers are updated. Had a few minor issues with booting from hard drive and running trim but worked it all out. Most of the info was found on the web with out a problem. Intel and evga tech support were great.

Asus PCIE GEN2 SATA 6/G

ASUS Model PCIE GEN2 SATA6G Expansion Card
ASUS Model PCIE GEN2 SATA6G Expansion Card

Pros: I have a nvidia 750i motherboard that does not support AHCI. When I installed Intel ssd I was not getting optimal performance. This 20.00 add on card did the trick, blazing fast. Get this card if you only have 3gb/s on your south bridge it is awesome and a cinch to install.

EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI FTW ATX Intel Motherboard
EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI FTW ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This board was easy to use for a novice. Read all the reviews about the sata cable issues. I just put cables in before attaching motherboard to case. q6600 overclocked to 3 GHZ was a breeze changed fsb to 1333 thats it. All in All a great board for my needs

Cons: None
