PSN $20
Pros: It is a PSN $20 card. You are getting exactly what you think you are.
Cons: It didn't come with free pizza or beer.
Overall Review: I needed to buy some stuff off PSN, I had a $20 Newegg gift card. Case solved.
Poor Quality control, like most reviews mention. I'm on my 2nd monitor now
Pros: Cheap for all the features offered - but remember that you get what you pay for.
Cons: Poor QC Low quality materials used The stand/base while fully functional is kind of flimsy.
Overall Review: This is my 2nd of this exact model. The first monitor died completely (just a black screen) after 5 months. A google/reddit dive shows that this is actually a fairly common problem with these models. The manufacture date of my first monitor was March 2022; this second one is June 2022. Lets hope there is a difference in the batches.
Easy to set up, cools well; but make sure to READ everything!
Pros: Seems to keep my i9-13900kf cool so far; around 40c idle and 70c in heavy gaming. Lots of cool options for lighting and fan control.
Cons: I really wish iCue software was a little easier to navigate and more intuitive; but that's mostly a "me" issue.
Overall Review: Don't let reading comprehension ruin your day like it did mine!! On the Newegg page, you will see a link that says : LGA 1700 compatible, please click here to request LGA 1700 brackets from manufacture customer service. Now when you click on the link, you will be taken to the corsair store webpage, but the link takes you to the page for the LGA1700 standoff screws, WHICH ARE ICLUDED IN THE PACKAGE, so no need to purchase an extra set (like me!) What you ACTUALLY NEED is the the LGA BACKPLATE, which; if you read this page and the incorrectly linked page, will be made clear. There is a link on the incorrect page for the brackets you need; just follow that. In my case, I had to fun to a box store and buy a cheap cooler master fan that had an LGA1700 backplate. Which works fine, in case any one is wondering.
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB 6000
Pros: White modules with RGB, very nice and not the easiest to find in some circumstances. I purchased two kits, for 64GB of RAM. Works fine at STOCK speeds.
Cons: Unfortunately, I am not able to use the advertised speed of 6000. I have an Asus ROG Strix z790-e Motherboard, and when I enable XMP in the BIOS, the system will not boot. I get an error message about RAM failing to post, and bunch of codes flash on the motherboard. The only option seems to be a BIOS reset and use stock memory speeds.
Overall Review: Yes I would recommend, but don't pay extra for OC speeds, just get the stock model.
Mind blowing awesomeness
Pros: Great Speed High Capacity (2TB) Seems to run cool so far, and mine is installed in lower m2 socket of an MSI MPG390 motherboard (below the video card when mounted vertically)
Cons: None that I am aware of. ( maybe seeing what the price of this or similar drives will be in a year or so, but that's Moore's Law for you!)
Overall Review: Like ALL m2 drives, you need the screw specific to your motherboard. (most motherboards come with one or two, and you can even buy a pack of 6 here on newegg. A wise investment) Make sure you do your research first and have the screw ready when you want to install.
Like most things; You get what you pay for
Overall Review: This is the first laptop computer I have ever owned. I am not a computer novice however; I have been building my own PCs for years. As with most things in life; You Get What You Pay For. It is easy to see that this laptop contains many features not available in other laptops of the same price range. How did they do that? Magic? No, not magic. Simply by cutting steps in other areas. As you read the other reviews; you will see a the same things mentioned several times; this is no fluke. The 'craftsmanship' or 'quality' of this laptop is clearly Sub-par - cheap plastic throughout. As many others have said, it is nearly impossible to flip open the screen. There is absolutely nowhere to grab or grip, turning something that should be almost automatic (opening the laptop) into a chore, and something you must spend 10 seconds thinking about before actually doing. Also, as many have said -- The screen quality (once you are finally able to get it open) is horrible. HORRIBLE. It is technically a 1920*1080 display; but it is clear to see why fullHD is not standard at this price point. As almost EVERYONE has said, the charging port is horribly flimsy, and I have no doubt it will break very soon. No one has mentioned the Ethernet port; which I find odd. The Ethernet port is not 'full size'. That means, the port expands to the full size (physically) when you insert a cable into the port. The problem with this is, the "designers" of this notebook thought it would be a good idea if the port expanded down, and not up. That means your notebook will NEVER be able to sit level on a table or other surface when you are online -- The left side of the notebook will be raised in the air because that is where the Ethernet port is located. Poor Design. Very Poor. The speakers do work, but they are horribly tinny and hollow. The track pad is off center (mentioned in other reviews) and horribly inconsistent as far as movement and 'clicking' go. If your intention was to use this laptop with the track pad and not a USB mouse, you will be sorely disappointed. It is almost unusable. Many people complained about the keyboard lighting timing out after 30 seconds. I did notice that at first, but the Keyboard Lighting on mine stopped working COMPLETELY after an hour, so I no longer notice that. And as said, Caps lock and Num Lock do not have an indicator. You can download a 3rd party app which will add icons to the start menu; but you will still never be able to see those keys while gaming; which is odd on something marketed as a Budget Gaming Laptop. I could sit here and nitpick every little thing about this laptop (it is very very poor quality throughout); but the fact of the matter is this should have all been evident before I purchased; so this is my fault. I wouldn't recommend this laptop to anybody; except perhaps a child (but a child would surely physically damage this very easy as flimsy as it is). If this is the money you can spend; you would do far better purchasing something else and missing out on some of the features of this laptop. In my opinion, the extra features are not worth the trade-off in quality. I am going to save up a little more; and purchase a quality laptop like MSI. Then I am going throw this Acer Junk to the bottom of a lake.
