Pretty fast

Pros: Priced pretty fair. Runs the AVP game great, just cause 2, actually every game I got on high with good frame rates except 1,Crysis.I have 1920 1080 Samsung but when played in DX9 mode all is fine.It sends DTS-MA,TrueHD bitstreamed from Blurays, not downsampled to my Onkyo TX-SR706 with the right media player and/or mpc-hc with ffdshow. You can't beat that! You have to use the realtek Ati-hdmi driver. That saves on a sound card!Runs cool in my set up and is not loud.I am using the dvi to hdmi dongle that came with my HD4850 for my 2nd 1080p HDTV.This is not mentioned anywhere but it works! It is well built and it shows when you look at it up close.
Cons: Will not run Crysis on high without ANY hiccups as stated, for me anyway.Lets be fair,Crysis gives all cards a run for the money.I can and do play the game, but the FPS will slow to 21 or so on graphic intense situations. The latest 10.4 drivers will not work for HD5830,it will not recognize the GPU and only installs the install manager.I'm sure more will come along but not right now
Overall Review: Ati/Amd has 10.2 drivers listed for the HD5830,and does not back it up.I installed the 10.3 drivers right from the start.I did not use the disk that came with it.I all ready had 10.3 drivers installed for HD5770 I bought from BB,I returned and got this card for 20 more bucks! looking to buy

Pros: seems to be a good psu, can't figure if it is a Seasonic or Channel Well oem?I do not own yet,let that be know. I only gave one egg because you have to give something or you can't post. plenty of power, plenty of hookups
Cons: Seems like as I read the reviews here, the folks who bought this PSU recently have a lot of percentage of DOA's. There is a lot of comments with 4 and 5 eggs but they say, "been running for 3yrs now , or bought it back in 2009 still going strong, etc... As far as that goes I am running a BFG 550 since 2009. I would like to see more recent comments of happiness.
Overall Review: Phenom II 955 BE, Zalman 9600 cooler Sapphire HD6950 OC ver bought here at Newegg 4 1TB HDDs 1 LG GGC-H20L bluray burner 8GB's Corsair xm3 Memory 1600 Antec 900 case 6 fans all this running on the BFG GS550 has 2 12v rails, so no doubt this should power me quite well?? Just worried about all the recent RMA's
EDIT of previous post for GA-970A-UD3

Pros: It has everything I expected, I give 4 eggs. I got Rev 1.2 and 3.0 is out. Wish I would of got that one but when you buy "on sale" you usually get a older one. I did get F7 bios which is a pro for me because it will natively support piledriver/vishera cpu when I choose to buy one and the latest is a beta. Over clocks really easy and good price for mid range board after more time
Cons: I had trouble at first with audio codec driver install. When you insert the driver disk do not choose "express install". If you do choose express then it will install Realtek ALC-889 HD Audio codec and your audio will not work. The advertisements for this board is for Realtek on-board audio card/chip. This is true for boards rev. 1.0/1.1. But for boards 1.2/3.0 the codec is VIA HD audio codec. I TAKE BACK LOSS OF EGG for the audio situation! My con now is the North Bridge gets hot under stress loads, and not just if you are over clocking. It has been said that the heat sink is cheap/wobbly (like mine is) and just don't do it's job right. This is what takes away the egg for me now! Shame for us with revision 1.2 and down because revision 3.0 has a different heat sink and it looks much better and folks on over clocking forums say it does it's job now. Bummer for me!
Overall Review: I have not used VIA HD Audio before, all my other GA boards had the Realtek ALC-889 which is pretty good for onboard. The advertisement for 108db SNR with Blu-Ray full rate lossless audio was one of the key selling points for me. On my other post I had misconceptions about VIA HD Audio Chip but it is about the same as Realtek, you can do a bit more configuring thinks like using 176/24 on Realtek but not with VIA. That probably don't matter for many folks but I have music in this format, you got to use WASPI out and skip windows. The real issue is the hot North Bridge and the flimsy heatsink! I hope that Gigabyte sees this and makes a response for me. I have had 2 bsod's because of this heat. I have plenty of fans and great cooling set up (look at specs below). I do know others that Gigabyte support has helped out and sent them the NEW HEAT SINK for the NB along with washers and arctic silver ceramique, or equivalent. My temps at Idle are 50`C - That's after it starts and all is done, just sitting there idle, when doing anything it gets close to 60`C and 90`C plus when stressed, then it fails, to hot. Wondering now about an RMA. I only got about 14 days left with Newegg but 3yrs I think with Gigabyte. I have ONLY used Gigabyte motherboards for years. In any PC I build for people, htpc, gaming, or just a workstation. I would say over 100 boards and this is the ONLY one ever that I had a complaint. That's pretty good odds! Gigabyte support please respond to this!! It would make me so happy!! Thanks for all the years of good service, lets keep it up!
BFG GS V2.2 owner

Pros: I bought one of the V2.2 not this V2.8 from BB in 2009. I did not know the difference between 2 rails and 1 or much at all. I put it in a Gateway GM 5664 (that was discontinued quick) it had a ATI 2400 xt which was to small. I bought the ATI HD4850 about best at that time and put it in with this PSU. I built a PC in 2011, Gigabyte mb 780Gx, Phenom II 955B 3rd stepping, LG Bluray burner, XFX HD5830 and used this power supply. I am still using this PSU with a Sapphire HD6950, 4 1TB HDDs, same 955B oc to 3.4 Phenom II cpu. I just wanted to say don't know what happened from V2.2 to V2.8 but mine is still going. I am shopping for a new PSU though and will put this one back in the Gateway that I gave my son so he can use the HD5830. Till it dies!!
Cons: no cons
Overall Review: I know they went out of business but mine is still going, probably no one will read this!
software for blurays

Pros: great drive, for people who don't get cyberlink, don't worry about that. I have it and don't use it. Get media player classic home cinema, it's free and works just as good if not better. You can even use ffdshow to out put DTSHD-MA bitstreamed to your AV receiver. You guys with this 5 tech level should know this. Come on!
Cons: For some it seems it's the luck of the draw on if you get Power DVD or not. I don't need it
Overall Review: plays 3d also! Get to googling and learn other ways to play your bluray disk. You just don't need Cyberlink. I guess it's nice if they send it but you just don't have to have it.
way to much

Pros: been good HDD for me, also the 528AS's. They have last long time even with lots of work everyday sharing files on private site. You that's a constant read, write, seeking and such.
Cons: price right now!
Overall Review: st31000528as, I have 4 of these, st31000524as, I have one of these and want another. I got the last one for 64.99 (i think) man what a jump. I can't do that, looks like I must purge some things and make new room!
