Awesome budget card
Pros: Quick, easy install. Nvidia's Linux drivers work wonders with this card, and the dual-head configuration was a breeze.
Cons: Let's face it, this is not a high-end gaming card. I never was under the illusion that it was.
Overall Review: Replaced my long-in-the-tooth (but still going strong) Diamond Viper V770 Ultra (TNT2 Ultra) 32MB with this GeForce FX 5500 256MB primarily to get the dual-head support. I couldn't be happier with the bang for my buck as far as my needs go. Seems solid to me.
Pros: Installed with no issues, and now is home to the DVD-ROM and DVD-RW of my client.
Cons: Only came with one 80-pin IDE cable, and it didn't want to allow booting from the DVD drives on it, but that may have been a conflict with the HP's BIOS. Not something I would count against the card itself.
Overall Review: Replaced a burned-out secondary IDE with it on a client's HP. She is thrilled with the performance. I am now considering buying a couple more for my own use.
