Pros: Ability to game on an ultrabook! Sturdy solid feel! Great sound compared to my Old Asus RoG . Good screen size for mobile working/gaming
Cons: 4GB of ram bleh! A higher screen resolution would have been nice. The laptop is not the easiest to upgrade ( but its not the hardest either)
Overall Review: I stuck in an 8GB patriot 12800 1.35v ram stick that I bought here on new egg. If you upgrade your RAM and want to keep your intel rapid start working you will have to change your hibernation partition to the total amount of your RAM ( in my case I changed mine to 10 ( 8gb added and 2 gb soldered on board)). I also added in a Samsung 840 250GB hard drive. I boot up in about 6 seconds now. If you plan on upgrading there's a great thread over at notebookreview. Just do a google search "Acer M5 notebookreview" and you'll find the thread. I haven't gamed on this thing yet... But so far I'm happy with my purchase.
Pros: Good Hardware specs.
Cons: Be careful buying an ASUS refurb. I bought this from newegg on November 29, got it a few days later. The screen started to flicker whenever I played any type of game. I did some research and found they gave me the wrong power supply. I call asus and they say "we can send you a new power supply but we wont be responsible for what happens after that." They wanted me to send in the entire unit and power supply in to their tech support, and I had to pay for shipping. It is now December 29, 1 month later, and they still have not sent me back the unit.
Overall Review: In Summary: Product may be good but ASUS Tech Support and Customer Service as far as this issue goes HAS BEEN TERRIBLE. Be wary if you have to go through ASUS for any type of support and expect to wait A LONG TIME before you get your item back.
Pros: Works on my Acer M5. I've only had it in there for a day, but I'll update if I have any issues.
Cons: Would be nice to get this a little cheaper... But I guess I always want to pay less for good stuff. :)
Overall Review: So far so good... My Acer M5 recognized this stick with an additional 2gb of on oars ram for a total of 10GB on my ultrabook. It's great!
Rating the entire package in this review not just the SSD
Pros: Great SSD , easy to use after you get all the needed tools(cable software etc..). Fast! I am expecting some battery life increased ... But haven't confirmed yet
Cons: Again I'm rating the entire package not just the SSD! The only negatives I have are that the package does not come with the required cable to perform migration. Having to go buy the cable added an extra $15 to the final price of the ssd. The SSD came with a CD that has the manuals and the Samsung Magician software. The software have me an error every time I tried to install it. This was a little Annoying. I had to go to SAmsung website and download the Samsung Migration tool (not the Samsung magician software!). This should have came on the cd , instead I had to waste some time researching the software needed and were to download it.
Overall Review: I have had this installed in my Acer M5 for a day now. It has greatly improved my boot times. I fully load and boot in about 6-7 seconds. I will come back and add more info if I get any negative's in the future. The only negatives had to do with the items not included in the package. I might just be asking for to much *shrug* . The lack of all the package contents knocked this down to 4 eggs for me. Overall I'm happy with my purchase though. I went from a WD Scorpio 5400 500gb to this. This blows the HDD away :)
Decet, just not long lasting
Pros: Great elevation and slant for ergonomic ease. The black aluminum is awesome and feels real cool. Decent product
Cons: Fan power is somewhat low Fan's stopped working after about 1.25 years, even with minimal fan use. Priced a little high
Overall Review: This cooler is decent for a while, not the super best cooler but solid one. Don't expect it to last you very long though. I used the fans maybe 2 times a week when I did some hardcore gaming and they still went out after 1.25 years.
