Great drive, TERRIBLE Packing!

Seagate Constellation ES.3 ST4000NM0033 4TB 7200 RPM 128MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Constellation ES.3 ST4000NM0033 4TB 7200 RPM 128MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Use Win 8.1 Disk Management to convert to GPT disc if you want to use all the drive's available space for a single partition! Writes seem fast, around 100MB/s on a SATA II controller. So far, so good but then ALL of them usually work great right out of the box so let's give this one some spin time and see how it acts..

Cons: Drive was enclosed in a plastic caddy, which punctured all the air bags in the shipping box from it's sharp corners, NEWEGG could have packed it better for shipping than bouncing around in a box with a bunch of empty plastic bags..

HyperX T1 Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model KHX2000C9AD3T1K2/4GX

Pros: Affordable. Pretty. Looks like a maglite with the cool blue finish.

Cons: BSOD 0X0000007E on boot at 2000MHz in Asus rampage extreme. Explorer shell crashes at 1800. Made in China.

Overall Review: Shopping for some G.Skill now.

Top Quality

LIAN LI PC-V351B Black Aluminum Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-V351B Black Aluminum Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case

Pros: Very efficient use of space, super quiet, highest quality materials and workmanship, more than adequate cooling, anodized aluminum finish -not painted or powdercoated- very clear instructions, everything about this case is as good as it gets.

Cons: None. Nada. Zip.

Overall Review: Sata cable clearance behind the drive bay cooling fan can be an issue, I found two cables that had relatively short connectors that could bend over easily and they worked fine. Even some of the 90 degree cables have long connectors and these might present a problem. Make sure to check available space if you plan on using a tall cpu cooler! I think 4 1/2" from the top of the core is about all you got.
