Most Favorable Review

Not too bad; not too fast, either (5980RPM).

Seagate BarraCuda ST4000DM005 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate BarraCuda ST4000DM005 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: It is what it is, a 4TB hard drive; both of mine worked properly out of the box, nothing unusual to report.

Cons: I agree with a previous reviewer's comments about how hard it is to discover this drive's rotational speed; looked everywhere, had to buy one to find out. Alas, it's 5980 RPM...

Overall Review: Assuming people know it's *not* a 7200RPM drive, I'd suggest it.

Would be great if it wasn't DOA

Eagle Consus W-Series ET-CSWESU2-BK 3.5" eSATA+USB2.0 to SATA I/II Aluminum External Enclosure
Eagle Consus W-Series ET-CSWESU2-BK 3.5" eSATA+USB2.0 to SATA I/II Aluminum External Enclosure

Pros: Nice case with indicator lights, lightweight, built-in base w/anti-skid.

Cons: Dead on arrival. Kind of a pain to get drive in, as the two (LED?) connectors were a bit difficult to unclip, which is required to install or remove the drive. Marginal design, in this respect.

Overall Review: My other Eaqle-Concus drive enclosure worked well, but alas they appear to no longer be available!

Not a bad little case

Eagle Consus W-Series ET-CSWU2-BK 3.5" USB2.0 to IDE Aluminum External Enclosure
Eagle Consus W-Series ET-CSWU2-BK 3.5" USB2.0 to IDE Aluminum External Enclosure

Pros: Drive quickly swapped, no electrical connectors to futz with, no tools necessary.

Cons: A bit 'cheap', limited airflow (none?), and the unit will slide right off the silly stand if you're not careful.

Overall Review: Simple, inexpensive solution for an occasional-use backup drive (I atually have the USB+eSATA version, which I can no longer find on the site).
