I am so glad that I could be one of the first to review this product!

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX APEX LGA 1151 Intel Z270 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX APEX LGA 1151 Intel Z270 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: THE Ultimate Enthusiast motherboard on the market. Awesome set of support software included on CD and more (including the first BIOS update) on the ASUS website.

Cons: No real cons here. Most of the problems that customers complain about are able to be worked around or fixed, especially if you are willing to wait for things like utility and BIOS updates from ASUS, and Windows 10 bugs fixed by Microsoft. Had to download BIOS version 0801 from a HWbot forum link to get my G.Skill 4266 MHz memory to post with the required 103.25 MHz BCLK frequency.

Overall Review: I was able to update my ASUS software and BIOS and tried lots of different CPU and memory settings. I currently hold the 48th place position for all ASUS Maximus IX Apex motherboards. My Intel Extreme Tuning Utility score is currently 1682 marks.

I am so glad to be the first to review this product and help with the tech support.

G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 4266 (PC4 34100) Desktop Memory Model F4-4266C19D-16GTZR
G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 4266 (PC4 34100) Desktop Memory Model F4-4266C19D-16GTZR

Pros: RGB lighting is a really nice touch, fully controllable with the ASUS Aura software. This memory is extremely fast. Highest read and write speeds of any memory you will find on the internet. Lowest latency too. Completely dominated the Passmark Performance Test.

Cons: Had to download ASUS Maximus IX Apex BIOS version 0801 from a HWbot forum link to get this to P.O.S.T at 4266 MHz. Requires a BCLK of 103.25 MHz, so this is 4133 MHz memory overclocked.
