Computer has some good bones

ASUS Laptop F555LA-NS52 Intel Core i5 5th Gen 5200U (2.20GHz) 4 GB DDR3L Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 5500 15.6" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
ASUS Laptop F555LA-NS52 Intel Core i5 5th Gen 5200U (2.20GHz) 4 GB DDR3L Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 5500 15.6" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Pros: Core i5 2.2GHz - 2.7GHz DVD-RW Price

Cons: Toshiba MQ01ABF050 5400 RPM Hard Drive All-in-one touchpad w/buttons

Overall Review: The hard drive is the bottleneck of every computer. And this laptop is no exception, especially with its 5400 RPM drive. Which is why I installed a Samsung 250GB SSD. I installed the Samsung software before I cloned the old HD to the new SSD. I ran a benchmark and the internal HD scored a 91MB/s Seq. Read & 66MB/s Seq. Write. Random Read = 236 & Random Write = 234. I cloned the HD to the SSD then ran the test again. 548MB/s Seq. Read & 529MB/s Seq. Write. Random Read = 67003 & Random Write = 19963. This laptop now loads Windows 10 and is ready at the desktop in about 10 seconds. Every task I do makes it feel like I'm running a Core i7 3GHz. Loading Firefox, Office, & computer settings is fast. I'm waiting for hard drives no more! If you purchase this laptop also purchase an SSD, IMO it's a requirement of such a cheap laptop. Especially due to the Toshiba hard drive that will most likely fail in 1 to 3 years. Believe me, I've been working in a computer repair shop for 11 years now, and the top dead drives we see are Seagate & Toshiba.

Works okay, but...

ASUS B85M-E/CSM LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS B85M-E/CSM LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Nice board with lots of features. Now I can take advantage of my case's front USB 3.0 ports.

Cons: Purchased 2 of these from another place. Both have the same issue paired with a Core i3-4150. Tried different power supplies and even used verified Crucial RAM. The first time you turn on the power switch to the power supply, the motherboard will not POST the first time. After you power it off then it will power on and POST. Not an acceptable problem when you're building a computer to sell to a customer. All BIOSes have this problem up the latest 0810. BUT, I found a work around ONLY with 0706 or lower. Versions 0805, 0806, & 0810 will not POST the first time no matter what BIOS setting is changed. Version 0810 even complained about a failed overclocking the 2nd boot even though all the settings are stock. Versions 0805 and higher say they support 4th gen Cores, but they're unstable. v0706- seems to be more compatible. The "FIX"; I had to disable Hyper Threading in 0706 and lower to get the first POST to work. But now I have 2 computers with Hyper Threading disabled. It's either this, or return these for a refund and deal with a lot of wasted time for me and my customer. Suffice it to say, I will not be purchasing any more of these boards.

Dying already after 3 months or less of use

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C17S-8GVR

Pros: Worked for a couple of months

Cons: Only worked for a couple of months. I install this on April of 2021. Customer has been getting BSODs for the last month for two. I finally get to check this out and it fails a memtest86 within the first 2 seconds of testing.

Overall Review: I don't usually get bad RAM like this, and I've been purchasing since 2005 for our shop. Must have been a bad apple.

Nice small laptop

Dell Latitude E6230 Intel i7 3520m 2.9Ghz 250GB HD 4GB WeCam Windows 10 64 Bit Laptop Notebook
Dell Latitude E6230 Intel i7 3520m 2.9Ghz 250GB HD 4GB WeCam Windows 10 64 Bit Laptop Notebook

Pros: Fast CPU Camera Windows 10 Large Cell Battery Small

Cons: The unit I got has a failing 320GB hard drive with an 80% health. (3276 Errors During Data Transfer) It's been powered on for 1186 days and only started/stopped 66 times. The diagnostic software estimates 408 days of life remaining. The laptop has Windows 10 installed with a few other programs already installed (Java, LibreOffice, VLC, Chrome). I prefer the brand new Windows 10 out of the box install when you power it on the first time so you know you're not getting any spyware/trojans already installed in the computer.

Overall Review: I gave this item a whopping 3 eggs because I was initially trying to steer my customer into upgrading to a Solid State Drive. Because of the failing hard drive, the decision has already been made for them. If they didn't upgrade to an SSD, I could see this drive dying in about 1 year, it's a Seagate.

Not the best company to order from

HP Compaq 6200 Pro Small Form Desktop, Intel Quad Core i5 2500 3.3Ghz, 4GB DDR3, 250GB Hard Drive, Display Port, Windows 10
HP Compaq 6200 Pro Small Form Desktop, Intel Quad Core i5 2500 3.3Ghz, 4GB DDR3, 250GB Hard Drive, Display Port, Windows 10

Pros: Good system

Cons: I got a 2 and 1 had a bad/dirty rattling fan. I had to replace it myself with a new 90mm fan. Both desktops seemed a bit shady with the Windows 10 install. They had remote desktop access software Teamviewer installed and they seemed to be activated even though the key was never entered. Also the networking icon was a picture of a plane like it was in airplane mode even though the internet worked.

Overall Review: I ended up installing a fresh clean Win 10 FCU from scratch.

Acronis True Image Not Installing, Can't Clone My Drive

WD Blue 250GB Internal SSD Solid State Drive - SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 Inch - WDS250G1B0A
WD Blue 250GB Internal SSD Solid State Drive - SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 Inch - WDS250G1B0A

Pros: Fast, sufficient space, good price

Cons: Acronis software and WD Dashboard blows!

Overall Review: You get what you pay for when you buy a Samsung EVO SSD. Their Data Migration software just works perfectly. I plug my Samsung SSD into a USB 3.0 enclosure and plug it into the computer running off the old hard drive. Then the software clones the hard drive directly to the SSD that's inside the USB 3.0 enclosure. Perfect and fast. But Acronis is not recognizing my WD SSD that's plugged into my USB 3.0 enclosure. I get the error "Acronis True Image WD Edition Installation restricted". Now I have to seek alternate methods and read forums to try and clone my HD. Also their WD Dashboard has an option to run at startup and run minimized. Which is good. But the UAC prompts every time the computer boots, outweighing the benefits of alerts and ease of access Dashboard provides. And when you enable the TRIM feature it doesn't stay enabled. You click off the menu and come back and it's disabled again. Great drive. But software definitely lacks.
