Best case I've ever used in a new PC build.

LIAN LI LANCOOL 216RW White Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ,2x 16 cm ARGB Fans Included ----LANCOOL 216RW
LIAN LI LANCOOL 216RW White Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ,2x 16 cm ARGB Fans Included ----LANCOOL 216RW

Pros: I've been building PC's since around 1992 & this is the best case I've ever used in a new PC build. Access during the build is fantastic! This unit can be stripped down to a bare minimum skeleton making it much easier to build and/or replace components than any other case I have ever used. There is plenty of space for hard drives & storage options are fantastic! Airflow is great, cable management is well thought out & easy to implement making for a very tidy, clean look. The white version of this case hides dust much better than any black case. When it's finally time to remove the dust, all dust filters are quick & easy to access making keeping a clean rig a breeze. There's enough internal space to fit most components, there's even space for a couple of AIO water coolers. The ARGB is well done. This is the most well designed case I have ever purchased and it comes at a great price (below $100.00)!

Cons: 1. Although all led lighting can be turned off via most UEFI equipped motherboards, I wish this unit also came without the glass side panel. A lot of people don't want the guts of their PC to be visible or brightly lit up. 2. The fans are a bit too loud for my tastes, even when set to silent mode in the UEFI. 3. The screws that hold the side covers on are a little too short to connect but, they don't even need to be used unless you are planning on frequently taking your rig to LAN gaming parties.

Overall Review: Looking for a quality, well rounded case filled with high-end features on a tight budget? Look no further, this one ticks all the boxes!!!

GREAT motherboard PROBLEMATIC ASMedia conrollers

ASRock Z87 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z87 Extreme6 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great feature set at a great price. Excellent hardware (with one exception) and very good layout. Good looking for those with windowed cases.

Cons: 1. ASMedia controllers are problematic! Plug a DVD burner into them and you will have problems with system lockups, trouble waking PC from sleep, restarts & shut downs. Move the DVD drive to one of the Intel controllers & ALL those bad things go away. 2. Full implementation of UEFI is VERY difficult. Windows 8 installs to MBR by default (not ASRock's fault). Explanations of BIOS settings are almost nonexistent.

Overall Review: I finally figured it out. The ASMedia SATA3 controllers are the problem! As soon as I moved my DVD drive to the Intel controller all the problems with recovering from sleep, restarting & shutting down went away. I re-installed Windows 8 from a thumb drive to a hard drive initiating the disk as GPT (so as to fully enable all the benefits of UEFI). Everything seems to be working well now but it took me 13 days to get everything configured correctly. This is a great motherboard with great features at an excellent price point but I expect many will be RMA'ed because of the problematic ASMedia controller. Maybe my Samsung DVD burner just doesn't play well with the ASMedia SATA3 controllers but I really don't believe that to be the case. I have seen complaints all over the web concerning ASMedia, not just the controllers on ASRock motherboards but Asus as well (and probably many other vendors also). It will certainly influence my future decision when choosing my next motherboard. If I see ASMedia anywhere in the specs I will probably look elsewhere. Also, installing system drivers & utilities was extremely confusing. Some would not install unless others were installed first and in the proper sequence along with the proper choices being made in the BIOS. It took a lot of web searching to get some of the drivers & utilities & features to install properly so as to enable full UEFI capabilities. The explanations of BIOS settings, in the manual, are sketchy at best. More concise documentation would be a HUGE benefit to the end user! However, I am very pleased with the end result & other than the ASMedia controller I feel that I have a GREAT new build. I just don't think it should have been so hard to get to this point. I have been building & repairing computers since 1998 & this has been my most difficult build. The ASRock Z87 Extreme6 is an excellent motherboard if you can get past 1. the POOR ASMedia SAT3 controllers, 2. the difficulty with choosing the right driver/utility/BIOS settings & sequences & 3. the sparse documentation. In fairness, this is my first experience with UEFI. Early adopters of new technologies enjoy new benefits but it is not without headaches.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Tracfone LG 306G Feature Phone w/ 600min (200min w/ Triple minutes for life handset)
Tracfone LG 306G Feature Phone w/ 600min (200min w/ Triple minutes for life handset)

Pros: It works as a phone should.

Cons: See my previous view of this phone. 2 stars off for the mystery of how to receive the FREE minutes.

Overall Review: I was clearing my desk & came across the packing slip from the TracFone that I recently purchased from newegg. There printed on the packing slip was the Airtime PIN number. I tried it & it worked!!! In the past that number was always on an Airtime card. I was looking in vain for a card that didn't exist. Neither newegg nor TracFone support reps were able to tell me where to find my missing free minutes. LUCKILY, I LOOKED AT THE PACKING SLIP BEFORE THROWING IT AWAY! Please inform the support department of newegg to direct purchasers of this phone to look on the packing slip to get their free minutes. Also, it would be nice to tell the other customer who complained about not receiving an Airtime card where she can locate this number. I am a long-time satisfied newegg customer & plan to continue to recommend others to newegg.

Modifications needed.

I paid extra for two day shipping because I had to have it for church last Sunday. I suppose this is the correct bulb but, I'm not sure. The connector plug arrived upside down & had to be modified with a dremel in order to reposition the plug to the correct alignment. After the modification, it worked fine at church last week but this week I am having trouble getting Windows 10 to recognize that a second display is connected. After installing this bulb sometimes windows recognizes the second display screen & sometimes it doesn't. Whether that has anything to do with this bulb is still a mystery. All I know is I never had this problem before installing this replacement bulb. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any input.
