Overall Review: I bought this because I needed something that would work on Ubuntu 12.04 (my old adapter doesn't support recent Ubuntu releases). Got it in just a few days, took it out of the box, plugged it in, instant internet access. I've only been using it about 24 hours, so I can't speak to reliability yet, but it's simple to install (I literally just plugged it into an open USB port and was good to go with no driver installation) and unobtrusive. Keep in mind the antenna's going to be sideways if you use, e.g., most back ports on a desktop tower that got up and down versus left to right. It has a blue link light that's not annoyingly bright, and the USB portion is short enough that it doesn't stick way out from my tower. Max speed is 150Mbps, which is only about half the theoretical maximum speed of 802.11n, but honestly you're never going to get 300Mbps out of a USB wireless adapter anyway. I have mine about 20m from the router, separated by thick walls housing electrical cables, and I'm still usually connected above 54Mbps (and of course my home internet is only rated at about 15Mbps anyway, with a more typical speed of ~5Mbps). So if you're looking for blistering speed connecting multiple computers on a SOHO network (e.g., streaming video from a multimedia server) this might not be fast enough, but for regular internet use it's more than adequate.

Pros: Easy to use, great speeds, reliable connection.

Cons: No longer supports Ubuntu.

Overall Review: I got this adapter because I moved my desktop too far from our home router to reasonably use a cable. I purchased this product because I read that it worked well on Linux. I was using Ubuntu 11.10, and the adapter worked perfectly out of the box, no driver installation, no configuration. Speed was great, connection was consistent. Unfortunately after I upgraded to 12.04 the connection was spotty and the speeds were mind-shatteringly slow. Obviously a driver issue, but I could never get the PremierTek-supplied driver to work (I'm a tech-oriented person and have used Linux for a while, but I have to admit that being given source code and an uncommented, out-of-date makefile was a bit daunting for me). I'm still giving 4 stars because on the right OS this is a great product, and because on a simple cheap product like this I don't care much about customer service. That being said, their customer service was TERRIBLE. As mentioned above, I was given a link to a source code package to compile myself based on a poorly written out of date readme, with a makefile I had to figure out how to customize myself (mostly unsuccessfully). Tech support was unresponsive, and since my last email I did some online research, purchased a new wireless adapter from Newegg, and have it up and running on my machine, and still haven't heard back from tech support. Overall I would say *with the right OS* this is a great product, but don't buy it if you're using a recent version of Ubuntu (anything after 11.10).

Overall Review: I haven't bought any brand of HDD since I started using Western Digital. As far as I'm concerned, WD Black is the best drive you can buy for any price -- and they're usually cheaper than just about anything else. The prepackaged WD external drives have a lot of problems, but their internal drives are the best I've ever used. I've used 6 of the Black in the past 7 years, and I've only experienced 2 problems: (1) after 5 years of continuous use in a tiny hot pre-built desktop the HD started chirping, and I stopped using it (but it never actually failed!); (2) had a drive start doing the click of death after a year, and the drive died after I had gotten a replacement (free from WD, since they have a 5 year warranty). Aside from the fact that these drives almost never fail, the warranty alone is a huge selling point. I've had great experiences with RMAing WD drives, and never had a problem at all. Easy to get a replacement after shipping them the broken drive, and easy to get a replacement before shipping the drive if you don't mind a temporary hold on your credit card. Not only do I recommend WD to everyone I know, and actively steer people away from every other brand. I've heard that some people get DOA WD drives, but I've never had this problem. Obviously once in a while you're going to get a defective drive, but that's what backup and excellent customer service are for. Can't say enough good things about WD.

Pros: Fast, reliable.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Don't really know what to say -- installed two of these 3 years ago and have never had any memory problems at all.
