Excellent Value for the Money
Pros: Cheap. Works with Vista. PCIe x16. The CPU combo broke the deal for me. I needed a cheap replacement board for my system to hold me over until I can build my new one, and I have almost no complaints.
Cons: Only two PCI slots. It isn't that big of a deal for me, but trying to squeeze peripheral cards into this is going to be a bit of a challenge. Don't plan on doing any real heavy lifting with this board. The integrated graphics aren't the best. Even at 128 MB allocated of 2 GB (through BIOS), this thing can't even perform pixel shading in Morrowind correctly.
Overall Review: I'm picking up a cheap PCIe x16 video card to deal with the video problem, and as long as you keep your system arrangement simple, you shouldn't have any problems.
Older system needs memory? Grab this.
Pros: Installation was a snap (literally). System booted no problem, no tinkering with BIOS settings required. I now have 2 gigs of glorious memory.
Cons: None.
Outstanding for the price
Pros: Installation was a snap.
Cons: Fan speed control was a nice idea, but the one that shipped didn't work with this heatsink. I stuck it on my case fan, and it worked just fine. Strange... Just remember to slap this thing onto the CPU before you try to load it into the case; because of the size, it's nearly impossible otherwise.
Overall Review: I needed a cheap CPU fan/heatsink to go with a replacement board for an aging machine, and this works perfectly. Zalman has won a new customer with this.
Awesome for the money - y'all don't know what you're talking about
Pros: I've had one of these installed for over two years now, and it's still rolling along without any problems whatsoever. I've wiped and upgraded the installed OS multiple times and have had absolutely no trouble. I'm running this in a Recording Studio environment, and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.
Cons: See above. Absolutely none.
Overall Review: Everyone who complains about getting drives DOA or having them go out or having them catch fire or any other problem doesn't realize that not all hardware is going to last as long and that there are going to be problems along the way. That's why there are warranties - if they go bad, you send them back for a replacement. Crazy when you think about it that way, huh? Duh.
