Great product/price, one gripe...

Pros: - 16GB of flash memory gives you the kind of space that you never worry about filling up your card with photos, unless you're also shooting video. - Lightning-quick free shipping
Cons: No case included. The card comes naked, basically. Probably not a big deal for most, but I just saw it on Amazin for cheaper and you get a case. If it was a 2GB card, no biggie, but 8GB and up, it's definitely getting a case.
Overall Review: I will always be a die-hard Newegg fan, that won't change
Take the good with the bad...

Pros: I'm upgrading from the D60 (minor upgrade, I know). The D5000 has 85% of the features of the D90 at a fraction of the cost (e.g. bracketing, live view, more megapixels, 11-point AF w/3D tracking, 720p movie mode). Plus, the LCD can be tilted/swiveled. To top it off, the camera was on a sale -- sixty bucks cheaper than retail. One catch, though, read on...
Cons: It seems like Newegg has a batch of D5000 cameras that are affected by a new service advisory issued recently by Nikon. You can send it to Nikon at no charge and they will fix it for you, but it is an extra hoop to jump through. I really wish Newegg had not sold the product as non-refundable. In regards to the camera itself, like the D40/D60 models, the D5000 lacks a built-in focus motor. If you already have a collection of Nikon lenses, manual focus may be your only option with them. This is not really a con, since you already get so much for the price. Besides, this camera is meant to be more like a "first D-SLR" for beginner/amateur/casual photographers.
Overall Review: I wonder why Nikon didn't just recall the affected cameras from all vendors in the first place. It also didn't help that Newegg slapped a juicy discount on this model to get their customers to snatch them up. If Newegg allowed me to return the item, I'd upgrade to a D90 instead (w/18-105mm lens), which has a built-in focus motor and better support for all of Nikon's lenses. Newegg, if you can bend the rules a little for me this one time, I would be so grateful.
