Great laptop for the price
Pros: Nice screen, size is average for others in the same class, weight is expected to be somewhere there, great processor. decent vista performer. nice, clean, not cheap feel to it.
Cons: Like most other laptops, it comes with trial/bloatware. its fn key is easy to confuse with the ctrl key. no biggies.
Overall Review: if you want a laptop and you're under a budget, get this one. you might get a brand new laptop for about the same price but chances are they're going to be athlon or pentium, not turion which is optimized for laptops. of course, don't expect to play 3d games. upgrading to 2gigs of ram is a good idea somewhere down the road.
it works
Pros: pretty cheap. wood!
Cons: cheap. hollow sounding. its better if they just called the subwoofer the power brick because seriously, I don't hear/feel anything from that. the sub is small IRL, the pics make it look kinda bigger than they really are.
Overall Review: I was looking for a cheap-o speaker system for a 24/7 system. Well I got what I paid for so no real complaints there. The sound is hollow, all highs no mids or lows so don't expect that. But... it can go pretty loud so I'll be able to hear it when I set alarms and such.
Its a coffeemaker!
Pros: - pauses drip when you need a cup right away - heats up really well
Cons: - a bit of a power guzzler(understandable, hot plate has to be hot), don't leave it on 24/7!
Overall Review: it just works! although, it can't seem to make enough coffee scent to fill the entire house. tried a variety of beans but still no aroma. not a big deal, scented candles will take care of it. what's important is the coffee tastes good.
Pros: Insanely good. Better than power line kits, loads more pleasing than running long cables.
Cons: Nothing really except.. - only two ethernet ports? I know I can't have everything but more thernet ports would have been awesome!
Overall Review: I've had a number of these in different configurations. And they just work well! You have to remember that you can use this alongside a 5ghz router so two of this can be in two different rooms. Setup can be a bit spotty but netgear has this awesome tool available i ntheir website which takes care of it with a bit of fiddling around. If you do not have a 5ghz router, then one of them should be connected to the router through ethernet.
make sure you lean on it
Pros: 4gb, cheap, nice heat spreader. cool blue color.
Cons: picky with motherboard- first few times i installed it, mobo said it was bad. tried it individually to check which one is bad. it was being marked as bad randomly. was about to RMA but i gave it one more try... only this time, i inserted it and leaned on it with all my 240lbs of man meat. then it worked! apparently, just making sure the locks lock into place isn't enough. in other news, the cheapo board it went in didn't break when i installed it.
Overall Review: first time i encountered that prob in all my years of building comps.
great
Pros: cheap. very robust unlike some other modules where big TLC is required when handling them.
Cons: none
Overall Review: great, works out of the pack. put in a compaq dektop to completely fill up the 4 banks of memory(2 banks used by the stock 2x512). tight squeeze, had to wrangle through wires and put in wrong way first time(2am + cramped space + dark room). once i got it in right, it worked great! going from 1gb -> 3gb isn't much of a difference in xp. but my brother insisted i put in more ram in his computer so i obliged.
