Good Linux machine
Pros: Quad-core dual-threaded Ryzen, Super display, easy to boot to USB and install Linux. Nice price.
Cons: Limited expansion and peripheral additions due to only two USB connectors
Overall Review: Good solid machine for Linux workstation after replacing SSD with 256GB version. 8 GB RAM is adequate for everyday use and addition of 720P camera is upgrade from budget machines with only 480P. 5G wifi performance seems worse than average with short range.
Pros: It functions (after much work)
Cons: Absolutely NO documentation with unit or from the manufacturer's site. Much searching on the net, fiddling with software and plain dumb luck got it working.
Great NVMe SSD
Pros: After adding a heat sink, it is now in use in a Raspberry Pi 5 (overclocked to 2.6 GHz) NFS server. Runs nice and cool with no pauses during large data transfers.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Replaced another competing product that ran HOT with many pauses during large transfers.
Great Laptop
Pros: After replacing the 512 GB PCIe SSD with an HP 1TB unit and installing Ubuntu-MATE Linux, this unit screams. It is a Goldilocks book in size (just right) and the 1080p display is crisp, clear and even my colorblind eyes can see that it has plenty of color. The 4-core dual-threaded CPU with 8GB of RAM allows it to do come heavy lift processing. USB 3 ports are fast with no bottlenecks on large files noticeable.
Cons: Temperatures rise to uncomfortable levels on heavy processing (e.g. video editing).
Overall Review: The laptop I've been waiting a long time for. A real Goldilocks unit.
Board delivered promptly in apparent good condition with expected parts. Initially the board powered up with RAM, DVD drive and SSD drive, but when video board from another system was added, the board died. The video card tested Ok in another system.
