Pros: Overclocks like a dream. Hit 900 right out the box with stock voltage. Got MSI Afterburner 2.1 and then went to work. At 1.125v I hit 975 core, 1950 shader, 4050 mem and run 33 idle and 77 full load under Kombuster and fan only hits 53%. Cannot hear the fan unless I turn it up manually and then at about 70%. Scores 7744 max 138fps,min 120fps, avg fps 129 in Kombuster. My rig is a old P5K deluxe, Q9550 @3.68 4 gig of Kingston 1066 DDR2, Vista 32 bit.
Cons: Sorry software. No way to adjust voltages or monitor temps and speeds. MSI Afterburner 2.1 is a must. Plus the drivers were out dated on the dvd, but that is quite often the case with new cards.
Overall Review: Overall not as big of a card as I expected. Have not tried it in any games except IL2 1946. It kicked the 9800gt I replaced. I am waiting on IL2 Cliffs of Dover to be released March 22. That is why I did the upgrade. I dont know if the 2 gigs will help out on anything but glad I got them.
Okay desktop drive
Pros: Okay for a desktop drive. But if you are into gaming go for something faster. Scored 5.9 on windows 7 rating.
Cons: I found a database of hard drive bench marks. This one comes in at 149. There is a Seagate 640 gig drive that comes in at 13th and is about the same price but twice as fast. I wished I would have learned that as I woud have gotten it instead.
Overall Review: From the reviews I worry about how it will hold up.
So this is what I have been missing
Pros: I have used windows products since 3.0. I rate win7 x64 the best so far. It is what Vista should have been. It loaded smoothly....the first time....Vista 32 took 3 trys to get it loaded. It is swifter than Vista in every facet. It loads quicker and is a lot snappier in use. Also being 64 bit I now have use of all my ram. I have not found any problems finding 64 bit drivers for all of my stuff. I guess everyone caught up. Anyway, 64 bit will soon be the norm.
Cons: Had to download Windows Essentials to get email service. It should have come as part of the installation
Overall Review: Windows experince 7 Q9550 @ 3.9ghz 7.5 Kingston Hyper X pc8500 8gig 7.5 Palit geforce GTX560Ti 2gig 7.6 Har drive........5.9
Pros: Just an update to my first review. Been running since my last review at: 1.025 (stock voltage) 920 core 1840 shader 2450 Mem (4900 effective) In MSI Kombuster scores 8827 FPS min 138, max 157, avg 147. 29c idle 72c full load and fan doent get over 53%. Been two days and ran in MSI Kombuster stress test several times, played farcry2 at max settings and flew in IL2 1946 a several times and not on error or artifact or anything negitive. In Farcry2 with all the bells and whistles just breezes through it. It made a huge jump in performance when I oc the memory.
Cons: I noticed from MSI Kombuster that I actually use very little of the memory during my gaming, so having the extra gig of memory at this point is not contributing to anything. I barely use 600meg of it. The memory is why I went with this card. But I guess it is there if I ever do need it.
Overall Review: Getting this without bumping up the voltage is sweet. I think it will do anything I want as it is so I am not going to raise the voltage to get more. But just nice to think I have that option if in the future it is ever needed.
