Better than I expected
Pros: 1. Stable 2. Decent speeds on the drives 3. Runs fairly cool and quiet
Cons: Blue lights on the back may scare away some at night
Overall Review: The unit is very stable without any issues. After I installed the SATA PCI card with port multiplier, I can read all four drives flawlessly (mixed drives in my case, ranging from 1.5TB to 3TB). The transfer speed is decent, although a little bit slower than the USB3.0, but it's not shabby by any means. This frees 4 SATA connectors from my main desktop and I can use the hard drives only when needed. (You do have to power on the enclosure before the computer starts in order to recognize the drives). Before this enclosure, the four hard drives has to be constantly powered on since it's been driven by the main power of the desktop. Overall, very pleasant experience with this enclosure. I haven't had the unit long enough to comment about the durability of the power supply, we'll see how it goes.
received the bad batch
Pros: low price
Cons: the packaging seems okay, the hard drive arrived double boxed and the hard drive was wrapped in the bubble wraps. When I opened the seal, there is a big dent on the SATA connector, the cables are still connect-able, however, when I hook up the SATA and the power cable, the dreaded clicking sound fired up, tried SATA III cable and still doesn't seem to relieve the issue. Apparently, arrived as DOA....
Neat little device!
Pros: Extremely Versatile! It's like a Swiss Army Knife for the techies! Both the connecting speed and the battery life are decent!
Cons: Can't find any for now
Overall Review: I work for Oil&Gas industry and I travel a lot, in shop condition, you don't normally get the luxury of 100% wifi coverage in the work space. Purchased this neat little gadget and shared the company network through a short ethernet cable, left it constantly charged through a wall plug nearby. Every guest visits are happily ever since. The device doubled as external battery pack is a sweet plus feature, I no longer have to carry an additional battery pack with me. All in all, very happy with the device, I would highly recommend all the road warriors out there to go get one, you'll need it!
The keys are stickier than I thought
Pros: 1. Backlit capability is nice, and it's fully adjustable. 2. Cherry Black Switch. 3. Seems to be sturdy to withstand heavy use. 4. Extra macros are nice to have.
Cons: 1. Form factor is kind of bulky. 2. The keys are somewhat sticky.
Overall Review: I have owned couple of mechanical keyboards with different types of Cherry Switches. Personally, I'm leaning toward the Red/Black linear switches than the Blue clicky switch. (It's a matter of personal preferences) My personal favorite would be the Steelkeys 6G which I've owned since 2006. It also has the cherry black switch as this CM Storm Trigger. However, the keys on the CM keyboard are somewhat sticky. Almost to the feel of the cheap membrane keyboards. I don't normally attached the keyboard rest to the front, it takes up too much space if I do so. The keyboard looks somewhat bulky without the keyboard rest attached. All in all, I think this fits the bill for a quality mechanical keyboard. (The steelkeys 6G I acquired earlier is north of 100 bucks) I'm somewhat reserved with the sticky feeling when the keys are pressed.
the drive just died on me..
Pros: the drive was fast when it was working
Cons: the drive just died on me without any notice, fail to initialize in Win 7, had to go though the RMA process right now....I decided to stay away from SSD for now...
a great case overall
Pros: 1. HAF 2. Roomy 3. Tool-less Design 4. Many expandability options (ie. water cooling...) 5. Seems it can outlast the components inside it by far. 6. Impeccable Newegg Service!
Cons: 1. Louder than my previous Antec P180 case but still acceptable 2. $5 drop since I received my case 3. I don't like the red colored light in the front panel (that's just personal preference, you can always replace with the ones you like) 4. Finesse is really not that great when you consider the little parts such as the power button and the tool-less casing for the HDDs.
Overall Review: overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase.
