Pros: - Great rebates if you're patient - Packaging is secure and retail boxed - 3 year warranty - 1 million hours MTBF!! - High reliability (per experience, reviews, and BackBlaze blog) - High speed drive, great internal transfer speeds - Value...the drives are worth it especially if you hold out for rebates.

Cons: - Vibration and noise was (by my perception) a bit high. I have 8 drives (total - 6 of these and 2 WD) and the drive noise was audible from across the room. These are quieter than the WD drives, specifically the WD drives click loudly while these just hum. - Price was a bit more than the other NAS drives...but these are worth the money IMHO.

Overall Review: I bought 6 of these to put in a Silverstone ds380 case. All 6 worked with zero issues on my Asrock C2550D4I motherboard. For the first three days I ran extended drive tests within FreeNAS and heavy writes and formats. I now have the drives as my primary server for nearly a month with zero issues thus far. I decided on these (HGST) after reading the backblaze blog on drive reliability. I've had both Seagate and WD drives over the years and have had mixed luck with both. So far I'm impressed but only time will tell the true lifespan of these.

Pros: - Very sharp looking stand and bezel - VESA 100 mounts - Great connection options (HDMI, DVI, VGA, Speakers) - Speakers can get audio from HDMI cable - Thin bezel

Cons: - No display port = no native Eyefinity - Moderate light leakage (#2 out of the 3) - Uneven backlighting across panel (#2 out of 3) - Flickering on DVI input (#3 out of the 3)

Overall Review: I bought three of these for an Eyefinity setup. I didn’t do enough homework at the time, but I now know you must use the displayport output from the video card to get EYEfinity to work. For use on a DVI setup like this requires an active converter that costs about $100. Not a huge deal, but something to think about. The first monitor I setup was beautiful; great color, minimal light leakage, and just a sharp looking monitor with no dead pixels. The second one to come out of the box had a very noticeable grey tint along the entire lower boarder and top left corner. It’s only noticeable when a black scene is showing, but VERY noticeable sitting next to a monitor that doesn’t suffer from the same issues. Also no dead pixels. The review is still out on the third monitor. I tried the DVI input and was greeted with a slight flickering on the monitor itself. Granted, I didn't have my display drivers installed yet so I will update this review when I do.

Pros: - Quick boot times, full featured, and loads of storage options. - A great upgrade from my previous ASRock Rack C2000 series board that died outside of RMA...I replaced it three times due to the fatal watchdog bug. I hope this lasts longer.

Cons: - You need to set config #2 in the BIOS to use all all the storage options, which disabled the PCIx slot...but it's a low power storage server, so it's not really a big deal. - It doesn't have an Intel NIC, it's Marvell; but it does work with TRUENAS / FreeBSD. - The SAS/SATA cables that came with the board and are required to use the 8 x SATA ports are incompatible with any chassis backplane. They need to plug directly into the drives. They also stick nearly 1/3 inch from the drive, so fitting these into my Node 804 was TIGHT. Like, 1mm more and they wouldn't have gone in above the PSU.

Overall Review: - I'd buy it again because what other mITX option is there? - If you want or need both the USB ports on the back, you need to switch some jumpers and disable one of the USB headers on the board. You will still have 1 on the board and two on the back for a total of three. Just FYI.....you could have two on the board or one on the back if that's more your style.

Pros: - 8 for 8! - great length for Silverstone ds380 - PRICE!!!
