Nice overall small board

Pros: Works as advertised out of the box. Serial, fireware and parallel headers on the board. Nice BIOS features. Two SATA cables, one with a 90 deg bend. Floppy and ATA cables included. Driver installation without any issues. Internal video should be able to work in cross fire with external ATI video card (not tested yet).
Cons: A normal video card, like Asus 4670 in the PCIEx16 slot covers the next slot as well, and I care much more about the covered PCI slot then about the PCIEx1 slot which is in the clear, out of the way. No bracket for serial, fireware and parallel ports and no part numbers listed in the manual next to a place or two to order them (you would think somebody @ Asus or newegg would catch up on the incremental revenue opportunity). No PS/2 mouse port - had to run around to find a USB to PS/2 adapter for my KVM - but a PS/2 mouse shows up in BIOS intermittently as taking up an interrupt, and I did not find yet how to disable the phantom PS/2 mouse. Restart under XP SP3 locks up my system, but power down / power up works fine (may be power supply related). A smartie@ Asus/AMI decided to use F8 as the boot device selection key, which is a problem if you need F8 to get into Safe Mode during XP Pro boot sequence. No way to change the key assignment in BIOS or take out the boot time selection
Overall Review: Had to upgrade the power supply to 500W from the 420W which came with the chasis. 9650 x4 CPU (65W), Asus 4670 video card with 512MB (60W), Seagate 300GB SATA drive, DVD RW on ATA, 2 x DDR2-400 2GB memory, gigabit Ethernet on PCI (second gigabit ethernet needed for my application), no OC. By my calculations, the 420W should have had plenty of margin, but it did not - system became unstable as it warmed up, and both the CPU core and video card were begining to overheat - looks like the fan controllers go south first. Video Doctor which comes with Asus 4670 card is confused by the on-board video, and 3/4 of the menus are grayed out. speedfan is looking at all temp sensors, not just at video, and is filling a hole - I was expecting a temperature and fan monitoring with alarm and throttle / shutdown application on the motherboard CD.... I've added two low power system fans to take the heat out of the box and keep the HD cool, but the chipset heatsink is still at 50+C (3rd fan needed)
Only for 5400 rpm discs

Pros: Looks nice All disks visible in HD Sentinel, Stablebit Scanner, and Crystal Disk Info Works with Stablebit Drive Pool. Each disk is visible and can be assigned separate letters in Windows Disk Manager (Win 7) Well constructed inside, easy to take apart and put back together.
Cons: Power switch not marked - it does have a soft power switch in the back. 7200 rpm disks with default cooling go to 55C to 57C which exceeds the comfort limit. Requires mods to keep the disks cool (see attached pics and comments below). Trays when fully inserted leave a gap to the front panel which locks the trays in place; it would have been nice to have something to keep the trays from moving (Seagate Disks, Barracuda, Constellation and NAS series tried out) One slot (the rightmost one) will only accept 5400 RPM disks - with a 7200RPM disk in that slot I get no disks in the operating system (regardless of what I have or not in the other slots). With four 7200RPM disks in slots 1-4, it does not matter what disk is installed in slot #5 - the all the LEDs blink together, the hard drives start and stop every couple of seconds, in sync with the LEDs, and no disk is visible to the USB host. I suspect the internal power supply cannot handle four 7200RPM disks and one 5400RPM disk. It did work with three 5400RPM disks and two 7200RPM disks (did not try three 7200 + two 5400). All disks in the enclosure are starting at the same time - there is no sequencing, which contributes to overloading the power supply at power up if the disks are "hungry" and there is no way to tell the disks to delay their spin (no jumpers for delayed start).
Overall Review: OK enclosure as long as it it used with 5400/5900 RPM disks only. I would strongly suggest modifying it for better airflow, even with 5400RPM disks (see attached pics). Two eggs down due to no operation with five 7200RPM disks due to its power supply and one bad slot (my 7200RPM disks are Seagate Constellation ES.3, 4TB disks, +5V/0.75A, +12V/0.99A, ST 4000NM0033). The 5900rpm disks I tried out are Seagate Ironwolf, ST4000VN008, +5V/0.55A, +12V/0.37A, and 5400rpm disks are ST4000DM004, +5V/0.55A, +12V/0.37A. I suspect the 12V rail cannot handle the disks, as the external power brick is only rated +12V/6.5A With 5 Constellation disks at rated power we would need 5A for the 12V rails, and 2.75A @ 5V; in theory, with a 90% efficient 12V to 5V switcher, it should work, but it does not. Holes in the front and back panel are very small, restricting the airflow; enlarging them helps a lot with the airflow - just takes a little time with a drill press. After mods, disk temp for 7200RPM disks dropped by ~14C (to about 42-43C from 56-57C) under load (writing a couple TB of files for 8 hours). Note that removing the front panel completely did not drop the temp any further., so the existing holes in the front panel are sufficient. With five 5400RPM disks and mods for improved air flow, it should be OK, but for the price I was expecting more.
Works fine with AMD Ryzen 7 1700x CPU

Pros: Works as expected with 4 x 16GB DDR4 2666 modules and a Zen 7 1700x Summit Ridge 8 core 95W CPU. Backwards compatibility for AM4 CPUs is expected, even if not advertised :)
Cons: Older CPUs not officially supported though they seem to work fine (search for the part number 9SIBTK0K9U4275 on newegg, this is what I have running in this board, Ryzen_7 1700x, 8 core, 95W, 3.5GHz). Needs a 6 pin TPM 2.0 module (not included) to keep Win 11 happy.
Overall Review: I may be buying a second one for backup :)
Works as advertised

Pros: Low cost compared to a new CPU
Cons: No heatsink, no thermal pad
Overall Review: Nicely packaged, and it worked fine with no issues
nice for the price

Pros: It has room for an additional 3.5" drive with connectors in place, ready to connect. It includes 4 rubber gromets to isolate the hard drive from the chassis for vibration (nice touch, most cases nowadays install the HD directly to the chassis with no vibration separation elements). I have added a 5400 RPM Seagate SMR 8T drive - no issues with the power supply. It includes a slim optical drive and it does have expansion slots (so a video card may be installed for upgrades,). One memory slot empty (so a second 32GB or RAM stick can be added)
Cons: No screws are included for the additional 3.5" disk drive, and it needs longer screws due to rubber washers included to absorb vibration. No restore disks (or any software disks whatsoever). Smaller than standard size power supply - good to keep the price down, but PITA to replace or upgrade, The included instruction sheet does not come with a magnifier glass - you need to use your own magnifier glass to read the text.
Overall Review: Win 11 Pro does offer to make restore disks but it should have included at least a download option / link for drivers and the initial operating system image. No urls listed for drivers, help, etc - but being a big brand, google is your friend. Win 11 Pro activated OK and updated with no issues. No speed demon, but perfectly good for web browsing and streaming (1080p 60Hz monitor, your mileage may vary if you use multiple monitors running at 4K and higher refresh rates).
Out of Seagate warranty but working fine

Pros: These are new old stock drives - I have 5 pcs working fine in a ZRAID-3 array under FreeNAS 13 (2 disks for data, 3 for redundancy, ZFS). No issues after a couple of month of 24/7 run time, with volume scrubs once per month and self tests once a week.
Cons: No mention in the description about the lack of mfg warranty. They are supposed to have some warranty from the seller, but so far I did not need to reach out to see how of if it works.
Overall Review: CMR drives, 7200RPM, helium, should last a very long time if cooled properly and not bumped or vibrated. Very good price for the performance, and it makes sense to get a couple of spares at this price to protect for any failures in time. Two drives for the price of a single NAS rated drive - I like the odds :)
