Great Drive

WD Passport Portable 250GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive WDXMS2500TN
WD Passport Portable 250GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive WDXMS2500TN

Pros: Fast, large capacity and quiet! Very slick looking. It's about half as tall and half the weight of my Western Digital 40 GB external drive. I can't hear it running but I can feel the slightest vibration when I put my fingers on it.

Cons: On my Dell laptop, it runs fine off the included USB cable. When I tried using the USB port on my docking station, the drive would not work. To remedy this, I ordered a 'Y' cable. This cable includes to USB plugs that plug into two USB ports on the docking station and a mini USB plug on the other end that plugs into the drive. Sadly, I cannot use the 2 USB plugs in the same area on the docking station as they won't fit on top of one another. So, I have one plug plugged into the back of the docking station and one on the side of the docking station.

Overall Review: I reformatted it to NTFS. It works well on my Vista laptops and my XP desktops. I would definitely buy this drive again without even thinking twice about it.

Waste of Money!

AMS VENUS DS3 DS-PL3507CBK Aluminum 3.5" IDE USB 2.0 & FireWire 400 External Enclosure
AMS VENUS DS3 DS-PL3507CBK Aluminum 3.5" IDE USB 2.0 & FireWire 400 External Enclosure

Pros: I like the way the internal power connector for the hard drive can be adjusted to fit the hard drive better. I like that it has two types of USB connection ports and the fire wire connection on the back. Good power supply design too!

Cons: When formatting my new WD 500GB HDD (purchased also fron Newegg for this case!), first 3% finished in just a few minutes, 4% took another 20 minutes, 5% about an hour. Never made it to 6%. Hard drive was doing a sequence of clicking noises, spinning down, back up and the same series of clicking noises again. Put HDD in the computer and it formatted just fine and is functioning well. So, it appears this enclosure is defective.

Overall Review: Luckily, the rebate on this item covers most of the cost of this enclosure. I'm still out the shipping costs it took to ship it to me. I'm not about to pay more shipping to send it back! If you want a great external case, go for the Rosewill, also here on newegg. You WON'T be dissapointed!

UPDATE: 5 pcs Diamond USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Micro SD SDHC TF Card Reader Surpport 32GB

Pros: Please see Other thoughts

Cons: Please see Other thoughts

Overall Review: I initially reported that I had only received 4 of the 5 items advertised. I apologize. I was wrong. Each USB reader is individually wrapped. One had fallen behind something while I was unpacking them. I DID receive all 5. Since I had awarded 4 stars based on the premise that I had only received 4 of the 5 readers promised, it is only fair that I bump my review up to 5 stars since I did actually receive all of them. Unfortunately, I have no way of editing my previous review so I had to make this new one. Sorry about that. My son chose to buy a five pack of these after he saw the ones I have, if that helps in your decision to buy.

Won't Ever Buy Again, SLOW and Corrupts Easily

Team 32GB microSDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC28A
Team 32GB microSDHC Flash Card Model TG032G0MC28A

Pros: Nice adapter. Lots of space for a low cost.

Cons: This memory is SLOW! I pitted it against a USB 3.0 thumb drive. I slid this memory card into a USB adapter. I loaded a system image to a hard drive to a machine with both (in a USB 2.0 slot.) The Team 32GB Flash memory loaded at about 12.0 MB/s. The USB thumb drive in the same USB 2.0 slot loaded at 24 MB/s. This is the slowest Class 10 flash memory I have ever used. It seems slower than my Class 4 memory. Also, after one image load, the Team flash card corrupted. I was on site when this happened and it was very embarrassing as I had to leave the site to go get another card. Never again will I trust Team.

Perfect On Android 4.2.1 & Windows 7 Ultimate

SYBA External USB Stereo Sound Adapter for Windows, Mac, Linux Extra Audio Source with 3.5mm Audio Mic Jack C-Media Chipset SD-CM-UAUD
SYBA External USB Stereo Sound Adapter for Windows, Mac, Linux Extra Audio Source with 3.5mm Audio Mic Jack C-Media Chipset SD-CM-UAUD

Pros: - Windows 7, no drivers needed! - Android 4.2.1, no drivers needed!

Cons: no cons

Overall Review: I have an old laptop that had it's heyday in the XP days. I loaded Windows 7 Ultimate on it and Windows 7 had drivers for everything except for sound. I couldn't find any sound drivers for my on-board laptop sound card, anywhere! I purchased this as a last, ditch effort to get sound. I my powered speaker into it and plugged it into a USB slot on my laptop. Lo and behold, I had sound! Later, I was messing with my MK908 Android stick. It has HDMI with audio on the HDMI. Just for fun, I plugged this into the OTG USB port (with adapter wire) on the stick (speakers were already connected to the SYBA) . INSTANTLY I had sound! Prior to my current experiences, I've always thought USB sound cards were redundant and useless and wondered why they were even produced. Now I know. They helped to breathe new life into my laptop and it's making things much easier with my Android MK908! Thanks!!

Pleasantly Surprised

Macally Battery, USB AC and Car Charger Kit For iPod & iPhone 3GS POWERGO
Macally Battery, USB AC and Car Charger Kit For iPod & iPhone 3GS POWERGO

Pros: A great source for a small amount of portable USB power.

Cons: 1000mah battery. (Would be nice if it was bigger, but then the unit wouldn't be nice and small.)

Overall Review: I bought this because I wanted a USB charger and it was free after rebate. I didn't even realize that it has a 1000mah battery in it when I ordered it. I am now using this on my water cooler to power some USB lights. At night, when we fill our water glass, we cannot see how full the cup is while filling. This causes us to sometimes overfill our cup. I was able to affix a USB light and switch to the cooler. I plugged it into this POWERGO. When I turn on the switch, I installed on the cooler, the POWERGO takes a second to power on the USB light. (Not a problem, but I wish it was instant.) It's really convenient to unplug the USB connector to this, plug it into the wall for recharging and then then reconnect the USB connector to provide on-demand power to the lights! With this POWERGO being so small in size (smaller than a pack of smokes), it can easily velcro it to the inside of of the cooler's internal storage compartments. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer didn't have this use in mind when they made this product, but I wanted to write this review to let you know that it can be used as a portable USB power source. There is no switch to power on, on the unit itself. It powers up when you plug something into the USB port. This saves you from forgetting to turn it off and killing your battery. It's perfect for what I need.

Slow To Ship But Good Customer Service

The seller was slow to ship the item. After a few days, I noticed that the hard drive had not been shipped, but the other items of my Newegg order had. I contacted the seller. They shipped the item the next day with expedited shipping. In the end, the item was received by my customer one day before it would have arrived, had it been shipped on the first day with the ground shipping I paid for. Everything else about the transaction was very good. I would give HTEKSOLUTIONS another try since sometimes stuff happens and what matters is how the seller handles the problems that come up. In my opinion, HTEKSOLUTIONS did well in this area.
