New use for dated hardware
Pros: I added 8 G DDR3 memory and swapped this out for a gigbyte AM2+ mobo with a 785 chipset and DDR 2 memory. MS detected the hardware change and did not require a new OEM Home Premium license.CPU Z reports the Asrock chipset as 785 GX.New Caviar black sata 3 drive also permitted under the old license after cloning the old drive. Without buying separate add on PCI cards this board upgraded to USB 3.0 front and back, Sata 3, unlocked and overclocked the old Phenom X II to Phenom X 4 @ 3.3 GHz, allowed for faster memory, provided plenty of room for my old 4870 GPU , provides 4 pin feedback and control on the board for 2 additional fans and is somewhat future -proof with AM 3+. AsRock tuning utilities are interesting to play with.CD drivers work.
Cons: Does run hotter than my old board but I'm overclocking with an OEM CPU cooler. As with most things it is too soon to tell.
Overall Review: My hope was to modernize my three year old hardware for less than $100. and this board made it possible
The only manufacturer of 44 submissions that never paid the rebate (twice))
Pros: cools cpu to 55C
Cons: I bought a visually identical xigmatek cooler with a different model number which is now discontinued (in 6 months) so a review of that one will not be read. It was a difficult install on a new motherboard in a new build(Gigabyte 1155) with the mobo removed.CPU temps were 2 degrees Celcius below the stock cooler on an Intel 2500k. Average fan noise.
Overall Review: If they cheap out on paying rebates, do they cheap out on material and design? Removed thermal compound and used Arctic Silver. Don't bother writing or calling them there will be no reply to your messages.
Dirtiest thing that was ever shipped to me.
Pros: works. cheap has dvi, speakers.
Cons: VERY dirty. no power cord.
Overall Review: this model was first released in 2007.
2 year life expectancy on a similar model
Pros: decent screen
Cons: faded and screen washed out colors and text after 23 months.unreliable design or manufacturing
Overall Review: I do not own this model number but another:Hanns·G HZ251HPB Black 25" 2ms X-Celerate OD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 X-Contrast 15,000:1 DCR (800:1 typical) Built-in Speakers .It has the same features and is out of stock here on newegg. 35 bucks to send it back for warranty service ant hanns g( hannspree, same mfr, decides if the problem is the screen( 1 yr warranty) or the rest of the components( 3 yr warranty) I wont take the chance and they know most people won't
cramped and VERY heavy
Pros: won't move from where you put it.Provides free antiquing effect by denting your tabletop.
Cons: This case must have been manufactured in a factory that switched over from making industrial grade switch boxes or power supplies. In fact it looks like a bomb -proof power supply. The front is heavy molded aluminum and the box is unnecessarily heavy gauge steel and finished in a thick orange peel coating. You could easily stand on this with the PC running(I have done so @ 200+ lbs) and not effect performance. All this to protect these wimpy components. Video card upgrades are nigh on impossible .
Overall Review: 4th time I've seen this case in a bundle and each time the deal gets sweeter.
good for the price
Pros: no audiophile but I say these have clear sound and plenty loud hooked up to my cheap tablet. Draws 3.4 w at medium volume and 1.4 turned off.
Cons: insubstantial bass but there
Overall Review: got this for 15 with rebate and FS somewhere else . cougar or panther or something like that online
