Basic CPU for a Basic Build

AMD Ryzen 5 9600X - Ryzen 5 9000 Series Granite Ridge (Zen 5) 6-Core 3.9 GHz - Socket AM5 65W - Radeon Graphics Processor - 100-100001405WOF
AMD Ryzen 5 9600X - Ryzen 5 9000 Series Granite Ridge (Zen 5) 6-Core 3.9 GHz - Socket AM5 65W - Radeon Graphics Processor - 100-100001405WOF

Pros: AM5.

Cons: Six Cores.

Overall Review: Needed to upgrade my Plex Media Server. Went AM5 because my gaming PC is a 9800X3D, so I could theoretically troubleshoot hardware issue using this one and vice-versa. Chose this over the 7600X because of a free RAM promotion Newegg had going and game promotion AMD had. Better game performance as well in the event I want to desktop game, but Im mostly a HTPC gamer. Only warning I would give is to not count on using the TDP to 105W setting unless you are liquid cooling. OCCT CPU benchmark with default setting was too much for my Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB. Reached 95C performance trotting with it on and 80C with it off: cooling efficiency isnt maximized though, with the front fan raised 11mm for RAM clearance and fan speeds adjusted to not exceed 20 dB noise. No regrets buying this CPU.

I Got It For How It Looks

ASRock X870 PRO RS WiFi AM5 AMD X870 ATX Motherboard
ASRock X870 PRO RS WiFi AM5 AMD X870 ATX Motherboard

Pros: White, Dual GPU Capable, Bottom M.2 Heatsink

Cons: Could be whiter?

Overall Review: "This review for ASRock review rebate program." I bought an X850 version of this when I first built my PC in January, but I'm becoming more of an enthusiast and want to try out Lossless Scaling's dual GPU function eventually. Cousin wanted to get into PC gaming, so I'm selling him my X850 version alongside other parts of my build as I wanted to make some other changes. Only downside is that I own an ASRock 9070 XT Taichi instead of a NVIDIA GPU, so I can't do a dual GPU setup for 32-bit PhysX games, but I'm happy with what I got and not even planning to buy another GPU for now anyway. AMD is apparently more ideal for Lossless Scaling as well.

Pros: Got it for free. 6000 MHz.

Cons: 16 GB. CL36. 43mm height.

Overall Review: Was buying a 9600X and Newegg was doing a promotion where this was included for free. Went ahead and bought it without a second thought since the 9600X was $60 off MSRP and Monster Hunter Wilds promo was still going. Motherboard Im using is a ASRock B850M-X and AMD EXPO is working and tested with OCCTs CPU+RAM. Imagine a ASRock B850M-X WiFi would do the same: would own one of those, but bought during a shortage where my motherboard was $130 and the one with Wi-Fi was going for $220. I had a PCIE Wi-Fi card on hand. Using a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB and had to raise the front fan to fit this 43mm height RAM. No big deal as Im using a Corsair Obsidian Series 750D case and dont care too much about how it looks since the windows faces a wall. It works and saved me a bit on my build. Will probably upgrade to a 32GB 6000 MHz CL30/CL28 kit at some point since I need to run a RAM disk. Never played a Monster Hunter game, but Ill give it a go on my 9800X3D / 9070 XT gaming PC.
